Haha, not an emoticon, just a random gif I found. I actually like the smaller version of the flame one.
I was sad when they slowed down the eyebrow wiggle :naughty:
Yeah... definitely creepier that way. Although I kind of wish it had a mustache. It'd be at least twice as creepy as it is now.

The solution is to change it every week. Then you won't mind having a different avatar.

I just came back from Harry potter world. I was super sad to not have a hogwarts school of medicine shirt on when I was there.

Finally started my PPD and titers today. Almost done with these requirements haha

Yep thats one of my last requirements and I'm done....I hope haha

Yeah. Hopefully the titers say I'm immune to everything and won't need any more shots.

That tdap shot made my arm all sore.

No kidding. I got that one last week. Felt like a horse kicked me there for a day or so

Yeahhhh.... I haven't even had my physical yet and all the stuff in due by July 1. I'm so scared that it won't be in on time 🙁.

Apparently I need a titer for varicella 🙁 They won't believe my doctor when they say I've had it already haha I thought I was done! Damn!

I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am.

It was SO much fun. Kinda my last hurrah for a bit before I start med school 😳.

I got all my titers done a couple of weeks ago... but before the official school forms were released for the year. I just based it off of last year's requirements. I hope I didn't miss anything because I won't have health insurance in about a week 🙁.

Frozen or original?

Frozen! SO GOOD.

Yeah, basically every thread asking for advice on schools and chances includes an answer with the phrase, 'Apply early!' The Panic Thread basically proved how a late app can really hurt you, I guess. Everyone reading it, looking at people with great stats getting wait listed everywhere, must have gone, " Oh my God, if I don't submit as soon as possible, I'm bound for rejection!"

I'm glad there was not a panic thread the year before we were applying!

Hahaha I remember those days.

Or even, waiting on the day to get MCAT scores back. I refreshed that page every couple seconds for hours..... I forgot what it was like to be a neurotic applicant already lol

Yeah, I was a mess. Glad we don't have to worry about that for another two years.

Now I'm wondering if they'll update the macbook pro before the end of the year. I wanted a 15" laptop but I was hoping they would drop the price on the retina ones a tiny bit.

I'm looking to get a pro also. The price tag is cray. Sometime I wonder is it really worth the expense.

Ughh... I really need to start looking for an apartment/potential roommates.

+1

.

I scheduled my appointment over a month ago and the earliest I could get was June 25th. Am I screwed? 🙁

When does school start?

August 7th is the first day of orientation. The deadline in the acceptance letter said to have my health forms in by July 1. I hope these deadlines aren't too strict.

So I'm giving this diabetes presentation for these kids in an ACT prep course to help out an instructor....in the course calendar it reads:

Diabetes - Dr. Osteoclast

I'm like....hhmmm not yet. Should I bring this up or just leave it be?

Phew I have until orientation to get my health forms in. I feel 1000000x better now 🙂.

Ugh. Got my second step PPD this morning, and it's looking a little bit inflamed. I swear to god, if I have to get a chest x-ray.......

I think this might have happened last time, too, though... FINGERS CROSSED

Yup, I am thinking about a 13" retina but keep wondering when they'll update them. I think that come mid July I'll probably just get the one available...

Hopefully you'll be all good, it could be a false positive... That's why I like quantiferon more...

I'll just leave it be. You deserve to be separated from the misidentification as a premed. 😉

What's a titer?

I need to go in for another blood draw so they can look for sufficient levels of antibodies to chicken pox. An antibody titer is basically a way to quantify how many antibodies are present.

Not that mean haha

I'm assuming PPD = tuberculosis. If so, then my school will do them during orientation. 🙂

I still have to get titers for varicella and Hep B. Pretty I've had chickenpox before and I will probably have to get the Hep B vaccine.

Yeah, the PPD tests for TB exposure. I had blood drawn for titers for varicella (I had chicken pox), hep B, rubella, and measles, also. My latest Tdap was in 2007, so I don't need another one. Going back on Wednesday to get my PPD read and hopefully wrap up all this paperwork.

You need titers in addition to vaccines for MMR and Hep B?!

I needed titers and vaccines for everything. I didn't even get a PPD test. Got my blood drawn directly. They took so much blood 🙁.

My computer is limping along...it freezes a lot and the power adapter broke so I borrow my roommate's when I can...but maybe it can make it a little longer? It's not like I have to do much writing. Since that's mostly what I use a computer for (& I'm getting an ipad also) I should just go 'cheap' & get the air.

Man, note to self--never go to Apple Store unless buying something specific. Every time I'm in there I go gaga over the new stuff, then become depressed because I can't afford it and don't really need it.

So jealous of you guys getting new laptops. I'm using my five year old clunker, the HP I got back before freshman year of college, that now has two ominous blue lines across the screen. Well, it still runs at least.

Haha I currently have an old HP. The battery is shot so it has to be plugged in always. It overheats too so has to be on one of those laptop cooling stands. I've been holding off upgrading for so long.
