Hi, Game of Thrones season finale right now.

Thanks for reminding me. Gotta do that tonight.

It's so boring and easy. Why must it take so long!!!

Seriously. They even give us optional stuff to view but I don't want to watch the extra stuff since it will take another hour or more. Ain't nobody got time for that.

It never ends bro lol

The struggles of having small veins and needing to be stuck in both arms to get blood.

I think they can use baby needles right? When I go to get blood drawn the nurses usually look at my veins and then call in someone more experienced who then goes ahead and gets the tiniest needles... 😛

I have good veins and I still ask for the butterfly needle

Feeling very sentimental today for some reason lol. Being that it's one year since amcas opened and I applied. What a year it's been. Feeling so lucky and happy that everything went so well for all of us on this thread. 👍

Whoot. Another project I worked on last summer was accepted for a poster presentation at the 2013 American College of Surgeons' Clinical Congress! Too bad I don't actually get to go. #secondauthorprobs

This scholarship search is terrible. Unless you're a URM, a resident of a random region of Pennsylvania or Virginia, or any state that isn't mine, come from a financially disadvantaged background, or have incredible background experiences, expect to take out full loans forever. Sigh.

I need a good, full ride scholarship for an average entering med student without unique circumstances that does not require military service. Preferably without essays and no one else applying.

So glad my certification carries over from my job.

🙂
Same 👍

That beats the struggle of having good veins in a phlebotomy class (i.e. being the class guinea pig). I looked like an addict for a good 2 weeks after that... haha

Well now that you're famous you can make the email less anonymous and let the replies flow in. Problem solved 🙂

+1

However, I will take the disadvantaged background ones that you know of! My sap story got me a $100k scholarship... to a school I didn't end up matriculating to.

There's this general fear amongst the applicants this cycle that if they didn't submit at 9:30 prompt this morning, they're going to be late.

Did you guys get to watch the WWDC? I am still debating btw a macbook air and a retina mac book pro... the struggle is real.

uh so I've been away from sdn for a bit. man there are a lot of new threads. is this prenup one worth reading?

It's funny the way that ends up working out isn't it..

You east coasters are lucky. Last year I was in the process of moving and didn't have access to Internet. I had to wake up at 6 to drive to a coffee shop to add the schools and submit by 630.

Was I being neurotic? Most certainly yes. Was it worth it? Undoubtably.

I blame us for that!

Yeah, basically every thread asking for advice on schools and chances includes an answer with the phrase, 'Apply early!' The Panic Thread basically proved how a late app can really hurt you, I guess. Everyone reading it, looking at people with great stats getting wait listed everywhere, must have gone, " Oh my God, if I don't submit as soon as possible, I'm bound for rejection!"

Hahaha I remember those days.

Or even, waiting on the day to get MCAT scores back. I refreshed that page every couple seconds for hours..... I forgot what it was like to be a neurotic applicant already lol

I <gasp> submitted two weeks after AMCAS opened. I'm such a slacker.

Now I'm wondering if they'll update the macbook pro before the end of the year. I wanted a 15" laptop but I was hoping they would drop the price on the retina ones a tiny bit.
