Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So many damn med students in here these days. Awkward. 😳

jk guys! Can't wait to join you in about a week.

I got 2 weeks, and I am bored out of my mind. Everyone I know works 9-5, so they are only free weekends. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I am tired of video games.

I'll regret this statement in 2.01 weeks.

Lol. I just got moved, still need to settle in a little more. I'm feeling a little restless since I don't know many people but I am kind of glad I have another month. Starting to surf OKCupid in the new city...hopefully I don't get myself into too much trouble.

+1- save the videoganes bit. My vice is listening to lots of music, which I notice is steadily getting weirder the longer I wait. It's become Celtic now.

Volunteering kills a bit of time.

"I love volunteering 9-5 during the summer."

*Acceptance letter*

"Yeeeeeeeah, no."

Lol, too true. I'm the only one there who's been accepted, everyone else is either applying/ yet to apply. One person quit just one month after getting into their dream school.

I love that place, and if things work out well, I hope to go back next summer.

So I've got this semi-crazy idea...

A portion of my undergrad loans is from a private lender, and, while I have paid about half of it off already, I still have a portion that is still unpaid and will be deferred through med school. As of now, my rent and living expenses are such that I would have enough money "left over" after about two/three years to pay the loans off if I took out the full COA. Would it be a horrible idea to pay off these loans with federal loans so that I can "buy into" the federal benefits (mainly IBR)?

Doesn't sound like a bad idea . But I'd talk to your fin aid people to make sure its legal and whatnot.

My idea was to take my loans and pay off my fiancées loans so we can live for 4 years without making (mandatory) loan payments.

I started my pre-mat course too and haven't been on SDN in weeks. Already took an exam and I have an exam EVERY MONDAY UNTIL THE END OF TIME.

But of course instead of studying I've decided this is the opportune time to pop in. :hello: from the abyss !

I just took an exam today too. My course was just a brief one week, intro type course but well worth it. Now I get to relax for this week during orientation and then full speed ahead.

In other news, just ordered a this print for my room... Super nerd-cited to get it!

Just did somewhat of an overhaul on my MDApps. Check it out if you'd want 🙂. There isn't any fancy editing, but it gets the job done.

Our school is having signups for faculty dinners during orientation weeks (one faculty member + 2-3 students). Good idea to sign up?

I'm really excited for the moment when I can change my status here and on FB to med student.

It's the little things. 😛

Wait, why is Facebook listing it as past tense? lol

Edit: Nevermind, I included the years and it changed "studied" to "studies," even though I had the "graduated" box unchecked the entire time.

Everyone on our FB page is worried about textbooks and course schedules. I'm in a class of gunners-- help!

I'm going on an 11 mile hike with 3000 feet of elevation gain tomorrow...I hope I don't die. The last big hike I did was 4 miles & 1000 feet less than that, & it wasn't easy.

Wow this thread died! Lol. Everyone started school? One more week for me!
