Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Doing it right, hopefully with margaritas!

actually I won't have margaritas, but I will have a 4 meter power kite.
Used that sucker at the beach yesterday for a few hours and today I feel like I got ran over by a truck. lol

School starts August 5th along with orientation. Do a lot of schools do orientation separate from beginning of classes?

Yeah, Aug 5-9 orientation + white coat, classes start the following Monday. They kick off with Biochem, Genetics, and a class about the relationship of the doctor and patient.

Yep. It will go in cycles though. Once we get used to the craziness of med school we will have a little more time to post and such.

*sigh*

I'm ashamed of myself for the amount of TV I've watched over the past couple months.

also, new avatar time! It's basically what my expression is going to be while I'm taking all of these exams

Oooh! Also very cool!!

I bet that feels great!

Its a great feeling. Whats weird is that not only do we take an individual test, but afterwards we take the same test in a group. Then they average the scores to give you the final score

In other news, I'm kind of new to the whole "cooking for yourself" thing, so what are some cost-efficient meals that I can make? You know... other than pasta, because I can at least make that!

1.) Campbell's Tomato Soup with two slices of toast
2.) Egg Sandwich/ PBJ/ cheese sandwich, coupled with a delicious salad
3.) quick and dirty potato curry ( my mom gave a recipe that I can make in half an hour and spread out over a week by storing in the fridge)
4.) potato patties - similar to hash browns, but lacking in grease and stuffed with cilantro, can be eaten with pita bread, and can be stored for months in the freezer- just take them out and fry them in 2-3 minutes
5.) chicken curry- pretty much the same recipe as potato curry, but can be stored in the freezer over a longer period of time
6.) egg salad

I highly recommend a crockpot. Here is one of my favorite simple crockpot recipes

dump a bunch of chicken breasts (I'd say around 3 pounds) into the crock pot, add a 12 oz bottle of franks wing sauce, add a couple table spoons of butter, and a packet of ranch dressing powder mix.

Let it cook on low for about 8 hours and then take two forks and shred the chicken up, mix everything together in the crock pot and cook on high for another hour. You now have 3lbs of the most delicious buffalo chicken ever.

Stirfry, dude. My dinner yesterday was made if broccoli, beef, onion, and red pepper. And some sauce I got at a Vietnamese market. Don't forget to get the rice going before you start cooking everything else.

Mmmmm... Stop making me hungry at this hour.

Me too! But I add chicken. I make fried rice tho.

I agree with the stirfry suggestion!

Ugh... This deciding what to make for dinner deal is a drag.

It's not that bad. I cool all meals for he week on Sunday. Just take them out of the freezer and microwave! Never worry about cooking.

For breakfast I always do a chicken scramble. It's eggs and diced chicken breast.

For lunch i do some type of sandwich and veggie chips.

For dinner I make fried rice using chicken, vegetables, and brown rice.

Been doing this for a while and I love not having to worry about meals. Helps me to not make bad choices.

OH Snap! I love curry. Do tell the recipe if it's not a family secret. Let's barter. I offer one
