I recently discovered how much cheaper it was getting my veggies at Reading/the Italian rather than Whole Foods. Saving boat loads of money now 😀

Whole Foods is not cheap!

You need to discover the Korean supermarkets, my friend.

whats up with Korean markets? Do they have affordable produce?

They tend to be cheaper, and have a good variety of veggies and fruit. The only caveat is that some of their produce-- bananas, grapes, blueberries--tends not to last very long after purchase.

nice. I'll definitely keep this in mind!👍

I agree! Med school = awesome! I woke up with a hell of a hangover. And I have a sports injury that is apparently aggravated by rigorous dancing. :-/

I've heard everything is awesome when you 're drunk.

Omg unpacking my life into an apartment and figuring out all things I need is too hard. Being an adult is too hard. I don't even have a bed yet, I have been sleeping on the floor for the past 2 days. at least I have some toilet paper now....

I am finally doing the AAMC MSQ, ha! Better late than never right, right?

The struggle is real.

This. I'm so scared to make official purchases.

About to go see The Wolverine. Verdict to follow...

I'm going to watch it this afternoon.

On another note, apparently I can only go to bed at 3-4am and get up at 8 so many days in a row before I feel like my brain is going to fall out my nose when I try to study. The struggle is real

Uhhh... The struggles? Is that all the studying? :scared:

Yeah bro. Just this week though. Anatomy final on Monday so I've done lecture/lab/study from 10am to about 2am nearly every day this week. This section of anatomy is jam packed with info to learn.

This doesn't reassure me. Do you study from 5 or 6 PM to 2 AM? Yikes. :scared:

Umm pretty much. I went to the gym for an hour, shot the breeze with classmates and watched random YouTube vids for about another hour overall. But other than that we were doing some group study and review sessions with faculty the rest of the time.

I love my school though. My classmates all mesh really REALLY well so far. We are learning a lot of diagnostic imaging, including learning how to use ultrasound to diagnose all kinds of stuff, during anatomy. Our faculty are amazing. They are bigwigs in the anatomy world, like editors of Netters and Gray's, a dude with a PhD in anatomy who used to get flown around the country, including places like Harvard, to lecture surgeons in a Antony for their CME etc. Best of all, those same professors are more than willing to put in lots of extra hours themselves to teach us in the lab, frequently staying until 1am to tutor us.

Long story short, it's a lot of work but I feel like its a quality education and its been a lot of fun.

DAMN!! 😱

It's crazy bro. I didn't expect that I could survive such studying after being out of school for a few years.
My biggest recommendation for school, make sure you get 7-8 hours of sleep every night, or whatever YOU need for adequate rest. Plus, take a day off each week. I take Sunday off and go to church/dedicate time to my family. No studying. Got to give your brain a good rest. It works

I noticed DO schools frequently do anatomy starting in the summer and finish by August. I'd personally hate that but to each his own. My school spreads everything out from Aug to May, standard schedule. I can't imagine it being that hectic unless exam week is coming up.

My school has pretty much the standard schedule. August to June. I'm doing an intensive summer anatomy course. If I get above 80% then they hire me as a TA for the regular semester and I don't have to actually take anatomy in the fall.

Haha, I sat through the lecture on Glycolysis/Gluconeogenesis/Glycogenesis and all that jazz and was able to memorize the gist of it all from just one session. I feel marginally better. 😛

wow that's pretty good! Nicely done. Was this just for your own personal refreshment?

Accidental TOP!!! :zip: :zip:

Pretty much. I took Biochem my Junior year, then studied again for the MCAT so a lot of that stuff fell by the wayside. I feel a lot better now that going through it once sticks nicely. There's hope yet!
