Blahhhhh I just took AAMC 5 and it killed me. I went down from a 34 on Kaplan FL 2 to a 30... 10/11/9. Down from a 12 in BS. What. At least VR is consistently an 11, every time I take an FL. Did anyone feel that this test was kind of... strange? Or was it just the transition from Kaplan FL's to AAMC FL's?

Aren't we supposed to do better on AAMC's? :scared:

I haven't started the AAMC's yet, but I think you just need to get used to it. The next test will probably bring your score back up!

I hope so 😳 I'm getting scared, I'm a month out, and a random 4-point drop isn't too cool with me. I'm glad I've got this thread for some support! I can't wait to apply to school with you guys 😀

For peeps who took an AAMC and another type of FL: did you find the AAMC to have slightly easier/less dense passages, but way vaguer/more ambiguously asked questions? It kind of threw me off. Apparently, especially in BS...

I haven't started the AAMC ones yet so no idea hahaha. Don't stress though!

Wow, I thought the verbal was kinda hard in AAMC5. Hopefully bio goes better.

That's so interesting. I thought out of the three sections, VR was totally fine for AAMC 5, but the other two were... weird. The humanities passage absolutely brutalized me, though. I got like... 2/7 correct. What was that passage even SAYING.

Bio killed me on AAMC 5 for some reason. I didn't think it was hard, but ended up getting all of the "easy" passages wrong and all the "hard" passages right. My favorite was a certain... sexual... one.

I've taken AAMC 3-5 (33,38,36)

I've taken BR 1-2 (33,32)

That 33 I got on AAMC3 I attribute most to being my first FL, day after lots of travel, etc etc whatever excuses might explain the difference between it and the other AAMCs I've taken.

BR has been noticeably more difficult with questions that I sometimes find to be ambiguous though maybe I just don't know the material solidly enough.

So my last four test scores have dropped...dropped...dropped...

I've got TBR3 then I'm back to the AAMCs for 7-11 before my Aug 19 test. It's really coming down to the wire!!
 
damn it. i ended up getting a 35, but my verbal dropped a point, again. it's at an 8 now... Time to do some ek 101...

Hmm interesting! Thanks for sharing. I wouldn't stress about TBR tests, even one of my TBR instructors says that the AAMC tests better predictors of where your score will be.

For me TBR verbal has been the most inconsistent. I can't wait to start the AAMCs in a week!

Other than the flukes I understand TBR 3 and 5 to be, those are some great scores!
If TBR 3 is really that hard I don't know if I can handle the blow to my ego that it looks like it's going to be 🙁((

Haha I think you will be fine! You are doing amazing so far. Many of my friends in the TBR class did go down #3 but not even as close to as much as I did. Watch -- you will come back with a 40 or something crazy on TBR #3.
 
You guys are all doing great on your practice tests! Anything above 35 is mostly luck and some super-serious-hardcore-understanding 😛
 
Spending today off. Gonna take AAMC3 tomorrow :xf:
 
My college still hasn't given me my financial aid package 😡
 
They're about 3 weeks later than anticipated. Probably because of stupid tuition hike plan.
 
Hopefully they do something good with the money.
 
Maybe build some better buildings or renovate the old ones.
 
Last year they spent so much money on buying new buses (unnecessary) and having them painted.
 
Not to mention installing 40 inch tvs everywhere they could find just to keep them off 🙄
 
I'll try my hardest. If that doesn't pay off I'll have to redefine hard and try again 😛
 
Stupid UPS. They left a notice on my door saying they "tried" delivering. They're such ninjas...
