I got one of the packages this morning(hence my worrying). And it is from probably the cheapest school I was accepted to when all things are considered. Yet still....🙁 :laugh:

My parents mailed in their tax returns.. So......... I have to wait the time for the IRS to get them and process them before it can be transferred over to FAFSA. Ugh.

I didn't transfer it over. I just typed the numbers in. Even if your parents submit their taxes electronically it takes >3 weeks before you can import it into FAFSA.
 
Do you guys know what time it is? Girl Scout Cookie time. I should probably feel worse about consuming an extra thousand calories of chocolaty goodness a day than I do. Blinded by thin mint-induced euphoria.
 
5 more months of my job.. 5 more months argh.

4 more months of work for me too. Its part time so not too bad, still get plenty of chill time.

Well I'm probably looking at 16 more weeks.. So 4.5 months. Just can't give up the paycheck. No money coming in otherwise and my parents aren't supportive at all.

Yeah, always a good call. I'm not quitting until the end of may, but I'll be doing the same thing.

Perhaps y'all could help me pick a destination. I'll have 2-4 weeks.

I don't have much interest in EU due to past travels and cost. I have already been to Morocco, India, and Nepal. I'm thinking either somewhere in South/central America (would love to backpack Patagonia but not sure about the weather that time of year) or SE Asia (Thailand + Vietnam + Cambodia [would kill to do Bhutan or Tibet but probably don't have the cash and patience to get requisite guide or permits, respectively]). I've also always wanted to visit sub-Saharan Africa and Mongolia...

Any suggestions from past travels?

The Patagonia is great! Tons too see. May will be late fall there, but depends on what part you go to. Some areas are much more temperate.
Jealous that's even an option for you!
 
You know what sucks ladies and gents? If I get my top choice, the only situation in which this applies, my long laid plans for pre-matriculation transcontinental travel, several countries (including Holland :naughty:), all fall through. I'll have to spend all my savings on the move and settle... But all in all, that's a good trade... Right?

Totally worth it! If I get into my top choice my dreams of the East Coast are gone, but whatever!

Travelling in Asia is definitely something else! If you haven't been, you should go check it out 🙂
 
Australia and New Zealand are supposed to be amazing
If my sister had her way, she would move there permanently.

As for me, I plan on graduating and then just staying in my home state and probably living it up at my cottage.

Morocco was 3 months english language teaching thing that turned into a volunteer translator position; I went alone but lived in a homestay with other random Americans doing affiliated programs through the same org.

India/Nepal was just shoe-string tourism with my GF who was studying abroad in the region. She'll most likely be accompanying me on this trip as well.

Rural China was absolutely gorgeous and awesome. Spent Christmas here one year(this doesn't even do the size/scale of all the rice paddies justice):
