Gotta love when a city that normally doesn't have snow gets it. Nobody has chains or studded snow tires.

I don't even know the climate of my second choice (VCU). What's it like in Richmond, Virginia?

Third choice, it will be hot in the summers and freezing in the winter (Creighton). There will also be tornadoes...

It's the south. The weather blows during the summer.. and it blows because it's a mild winter.

I don't think I'll have snow where I am going but I do miss 4 seasons. I feel like most of the NE has 2.5 seasons...

Haha... I'd agree for the places by the lakes. and upstate in those states.



I prefer no seasons actually, but 4 seasons is my second.

I love real winters too. But....

I grew up in the Seattle area. I would have a rainy Spring and Fall, the only difference is the color of the foliage. Summer was nice, but seemed to be short (only like 2 months of great weather with 2 weeks of unbearable heat). Winter was always drizzly and cold with never really getting much snow which made me mad. What made it worse was where I lived.

I lived by the Puget Sound, so when I had "snow days" for school, my house didn't have snow. It was the people farther away from the Sound that got a couple inches and made it unsafe for them to get to school. :laugh:

Just finished the death threat thread. I'm disappointed I never got to see what dude looked like and do my own investigation as to whether it was a legit troll or a legit thread. Either way, I was thoroughly regaled today while catching up.

On another note, NickNaylor agreed to cameo with us when we do the fireside chat.

Tots, would you mind merging my thread into a new one called "Fireside Chat 2013: Guero, the c/o 2017, and NickNaylor"?

On a side note, I was browsing the new MSAR book today and the school I will most likely attend had their average MCAT jump from a 31 to a 33. Just shows how much more competitive medical school admissions has become.

Thank jeebus creebus that part of our lives is over for the most part, aside from the fact that some of us are still in limbo regarding the ultimate landing... But I at least know I have a place and will be app free for the next 3 years, albeit 3 years of didactic and rotation hell. 🙂

Yeahhh, I am so thankful for everything this cycle. As a reapplicant with no II's last year I consider myself extremely fortunate for everything that has come this cycle. August can't get here soon enough!!

Hey, who all will be in Europe again? I'm going in July (1st through 31st) and plan to hit Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands (Amsterdam, clearly), and the Czech Republic (Prague).

You guys could start a google doc to see who will be where & when. We usually do it during trainings so we can carpool from the airport (mainly looking at when folks will arrive).

EDIT: Also- if possible you should totally check out the http://www.vangoghmuseum.nl/vgm/index.jsp?lang=nl They have my favorite painting there. Almond Blossom :biglove:)

:highfive: Reapplicant here as well. I'm so very thankful to never have to see the MCAT or AMCAS/AACOMAS ever again! I had an II last year to my state allo school, but was waitlisted and later rejected. It was surreal to get an acceptance this cycle.

I haven't read that apparently hilarious thread yet, but I'm getting curious now. Lol.

Same thing happened last year this time when I was making my school list this time last year.

It will go down after May 15th. I can remember one school I was applying to in particular jumped up 2 point and even updated their website stats. It went down in May in both the MSAR and the website. Waitlisters will bring the stats back to around where they were.

Sorry, I was talking about the website postings. Several schools update stats throughout the season and always increase prior to May and decrease after May.
