My friend broke his knee in a soccer practice and he started to laugh as soon as it happened. He said it felt so weird and his body numbed all the pain.

Possibly the same thing happened?

Most likely no. I would think about doing it in other countries, I have friends doing it in Mexico for 200/semester, they'll take the boards, have see if they get a residency, etc. I don't think I would do it if I was not able to pay it back. Crazy stuff! Would you do it?

I thought DVMs didn't have residencies, but apparently they do. Don't many DVMs go straight into practice, though?

They used to, but that was discontinued as of last year due to budget cuts. The school of medicine now has a grand total of 7 'fellowships' that replace that program...so basically I'm crossing my fingers that UW wants to recruit me more than almost all the other OOR applicants. Since I got waitlisted I am guessing this may not be the case.
