Yup. I need a total of $200k in scholarships just to get down to average. It's looking like I may be able to wrangle about $170k if I get that much of an SOM scholarship for 4 years. But I won't know for sure about any of it until after May 15 :scared:

But it's looking like that $350k COA at UW is not a real thing anymore. Whew!

I feel like I should have minored in finance in preparation for all these medical school decisions pertaining to money.

Whisky and Brandy are my first choices. Planning to just sip it straight or mix it with a little coke.

It just feels right to have a drink in your hand while watching Mad Men. Everything makes a little more sense

Maker's Mark.

I could go for a glass of port and a cigar right now. 😍

As for whisky, maybe a Glenfiddich?

Also, Red Stag Black Cherry.. guilty pleasure.

I like me some Drambuie. Rusty Nail (Drambuie + Scotch) = 😍

Also flavorful, hoppy craft beers. Mmm.

I picked up a bottle of Knob Creek! Little pricey but its been a while since I have had some quality whisky. Thats how I justify it in my mind anyway

As a whiskey fan, I know you made the right choice. It may be a bit pricy but it will last and is totally worth it.
Enjoy!

Withdrew from a school. But they weren't going to accept me so it doesn't count 🙂

Never go to a top 10 as your first interview...I got super psyched out about how ultra-high-acheiving all the other interviewees were and I lost track of my confidence. Interviewed like a doofus.

I know the feeling!

At my first interview I had to sit in the Dean of Admissions office waiting for the interview to start with a girl who informed me she scored a 38 on her mcat (well above mine). I felt about 2 inches tall going in 🙁

Whatever happened with UofC?

They continued me back in October and I haven't heard from them since. University of Washington is a better fit overall so there's no sense in hanging out on the continued list anymore.

Still debating whether to drop my Mayo waitlist.

Agreed. UWash is better.

Whats your #1 choice?

Washington. I've been worried about their tuition for out of staters, but as of today it sounds like I'm getting enough scholarships to almost make it equivalent to Wisconsin & OHSU costwise, so I'm probably moving to Seattle!

I should hear from OHSU by the end of the week...at this point I'm just holding out to see if they hand me a scholarship (not likely).

I like you. I also love me some Knob Creek. TBH, I'm in more of a Glenlivet mood this evening, but you can't go wrong either way.

Much better than what I had this weekend:

And to the guy at the grocery who assured me that Old Crow was the best whiskey that comes in a plastic bottle, **** you.

Lol who drops their MCAT score at a med school interview? That's so sad.

Glenlivet is a solid choice too! And that guy should be fired! How dare he?!

I know! The whole conversation was just awkward posturing. She tried to drop it subtly by acting like she was a poor candidate. It went something like:

Girl:"I haven't done much research so I hope my mcat will make up for that. I scored a 38 but my best friend got a 40 so I'm nothing compared to her."
Me: I'm screwwwed

Result: I got waitlisted
