Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Oh, I wasn't aware of them adding on. That's nice! I really liked the school and administration (especially Dr. Weir), but my wife would have a hard time finding a job in her profession in Hattiesburg. That is why I ended up choosing CUSOM because of the proximity to Raleigh.

Understandable.
I was so impressed during my interview. I am thrilled to be here! Especially because of my scholarship. Lol.

Totally understandable.

But why wait 2 whole years? I think that is ridiculous.

Yeah, I'm fine with it. It will give me something to look forward to, and I'm sure I will feel pretty good after I get through the first block.

It's just tuition. But since WCUCOM tuition is $38,000, it's a big chunk!
I wish they offered me a scholarship like that, but I applied late (didn't interview until Feb) so I guess I didn't have a chance at one. I definitely would have went there if I was offered one. Apparently, they gave similar offers to students at my school early in the cycle as well. Oh, the struggles of applying late.

Good lawd! So extraordinarily skimpy shorts and a sports bra for you, then?

But what about the gentlemen? I couldn't imagine doing that in a coed situation...

The men in my classes typically wear speedos/yoga shorts. Lululemon does have a men's section.

That's kind of the point 😀

I've never done Hot Yoga specifically before, but I've been doing Yoga for like 3 years now - figured I would take advantage of what my gym has to offer.

Lol sweat my face off if I was wearing tights. I've been doing bikram sporadically for 4 years. I have a Groupon for hot vinyasa I need to use before orientation (July 17!)

This scholarship is actually given through my state's only allopathic school. I beat out over 100 allo/osteo students to get it. I received it last year. Nothing to do with applying early. Lol.

That's quite the accomplishment man! I wasn't trying to slight you or anything. I just noticed that the people that received scholarships at my school applied early, and I was lamenting not giving myself a shot at those. Lol

Oh, I didn't take it that way. Lol. As far as I know, WCUCOM doesn't have any scholarships for first year students. Have you looked into any other scholarship opportunities for first years?

Congrats! That's no easy feat!

Thanks, man. It was hard work, but so worth it!

I have looked into it a bit, but I haven't been able to find much so far. I did get one for 12,000 from the hospital in my hometown, but that is spread over 4 years or 3,000 a year. It was nice to get that one, but it would be nice to find some others. Where is a good place to look for scholarships?

I'm not really sure. Since I have this one, I haven't looked for others. You could probably check your school's finaid office?

Seems as though I'm not alone in thinking here are a lot more troll posts popping up! There are threads about it. Lol.

Would it not be more beneficial to combine the pre-allo and pre-osteo forums into one pre-med forum?

I wouldn't mind having both separate and combined forums. I guess I won't be in the pre-med forums much in a couple months anyway, but it would still be interesting to see.

So, my neck has gotten thicker since I started lifting - this means like 2/3rds of my dress shirts don't fit comfortably anymore.. :scared:

Doubt it. There's too much animosity as is. Combining things would probably compound the situation and make the pre med boards unbearable.

I haven't started bulking up yet, but losing the weight made me buy new wardrobe. Donated three huge bags of clothes to charity.

Yeah, it's due to my bulking right now. Once I do some cutting it'll fit again - I can still wear most of my shirts, it's just really tight at the topmost button.

So how is everyone who is moving making the move ? Uhaul? Car?

Flying over! Whatever can't fit in a suitcase is getting left behind and bought again.

I moved with a 8x5 uhaul trailer. I sold all my furniture before I left because it was a Craigslist variety pack. It would have been close to 1000 to rent a truck for my move (1100 miles). The trailer was like 150, I believe. Everything just barely fit in my trailer and two cars, but it worked out.

Rented a uhaul. 75 miles from home. About $150 total.

Lol, I'm going to be renting their largest trailer for > 1 month and 2200 miles. Not looking forward to paying that bill.

Wow! 1100 was enough for me. I can't imagine double that, but good luck man!

Buying my first car ever. At the dealership right now. Pretty excited!

Wtf! Dude you have to explain.....

I'm leaving home (PNW) this weekend with a trailer full of stuff. Going to go to California to pick up another body and more stuff and taking a road trip/vacation across the country. Can't move in to the apt/out of the trailer until the beginning of August.
