Google Doctor Who. Best. Show. Ever. Torchwood is a spin off from the show, though the Doctor isnt really mentioned in Torchwood that often. Both were on the BBC, but now Doctor Who is on BBC America and Torchwood is on Starz.

Torchwood was an undercover British agency tasked with abnormal events, specifically aliens and such. It is so undercover thst not even other agencies know about them. It is lead by Captain Jack Harkness, who is actually from the future. He cannot die due to something that happened to him in his past (I dont remember the specifics). Great show. The new season is called Miracle Day, where no one can die...no matter how badly they are hurt. Decapitation, bombing, burning....still alive but not healing. However now Jack is the only mortal and therefore the only one who can die.

Doctor Who is a Time Lord who doesnt die from wounds (though he can). He just regenerates and becomes someone new, in appearance (he is an alien, the last of his kind, but looks human). He has a Tardis, bigger on the inside than the outside, which is a blue phone box. It allows him to travel through time and space. He is always with a female companion. He basically saves the human race from everyone who wants to destroy us. Initially Torchwood was created because of him, by Queen Elizabeth I believe.

Interesting quote from the last Doctor Who episode:

Doctor: the word for healer, and wise man, throughout the universe. We get that word from you, you know. But if you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean?

Funny you should talk about netflix. I had to call them today too because they sent me 'Lake House' and it wasn't even on my list. urgh. I sent it back and then in the mail today guess what is there.... Lake House... Again! WTF. I need to cancel anyway. Price hike is redik!

I stopped doing the whole dvd thing with them, just takes too long and I am impatient. They have a streaming only service for $7.99 which rocks. Good price and umlimited streaming. I watch it a little too much...and hulu...and HBO Go lol

The prices are killing me too so I may just cut off Netflix. And now, there's talk of usage based pricing by Internet providers since they have so much traffic because of Netflix, so I may start paying more for quality internet. Sigh...

Did you mention earlier that you served in the Marines?

Yup, and just about every other show you could possibly think of. I watch a lot of series based television. One reason I love my ipad is because I can watch my shows on it anytime...no plugs required because the battery lasts 10 hours.

Yeah, I have that and the 1 DVD, but the streaming movies are all old. I end up paying for redbox anyway so I don't know why I waste the money with netflix 🙁

Hulu is my buffer. It has the latest episodes that netflix doesnt. Sometimes it can take a week for a new epi but usually they are up immediatey. It follows the schedule of the networks online episode releases. The downside is the commercials, but the service is free on a computer. You only pay if you want to stream on a compatible device. So yeah, I end up paying about $15 a month for my entertainment. I seriously dont watch reg tv anymore bc every show is available on hulu. Just about at least lol.
 
Oh snap you guys just reminded me (with all the talk of streaming) that the new episode of Entourage comes on tonight. Too bad my dorm room t.v. DOESN'T GET HBO. WOW. +pissed+

my classes are relatively short compared to high school, and all we did was go over lab procedures so it was a pretty boring day. My english teacher is kinda weird though.

i remember taking ap bio like 5 yrs ago with the then newest edition..and when i was using the newest campbell this past summer...holy jesus! so much has changed!!!!!

Lol. The new edition thing seems to be the biggest scam ever. I just got my 9th edition in the mail and when I looked at it, it didn't seem that different than my older edition in high school.

yeah! there were parts I remember reading in the book that claimed 'we dont know how this process works'..and bam! 5 yrs later they have this whole new explanation thing for it.

Haha. That's pretty amazing. You know, if this doctor thing doesn't work out, I'm going to become a text book writer, hire a really good agent to make my book a bestseller, and make serious bank. My 100K square feet mansion swimming pool will be filled not with water, but with Benjamins.
