I seriously can't stand little kid shows. The older I get, the more irate I get.

TV Show: "Hey kids, what's 1+2? "
Me: "It's the effing derivative of 3x. Seriously, MOVE ON!"
TV Show: "What's that? I can't hear you! You'll need yell louder!"
Me: "I'm going to crawl into a hole and kill myself"

:laugh: I'm so glad they're past that stage. Besides, they never liked Dora the Explorer so I never had to go through that. 👍 I made them become obsessed with Spongebob, so I get to watch it too. :meanie: I'm slowly getting them into Bravo TV shows now.

Haha. I had to go through the Dora the Explorer stage, but that was only for a couple of days!

Spongebob is awesome! Just don't get them too hooked on Millionaire Matchmaker 🙂

My younger brother tells this to my mom all the time.

Him-"Mom, I'm not nctw, you can't hold us to the same expectations."

You made a 33 on your practice MCAT and you're only an undergrad? Also, how did you get your summer research position already? We're in different regions, so no competition to worry about 🙂

1. It's only AAMC3, which is the easiest.
2. Lox of emails! And I live like 2 min from my college, so I had easy access to my lab this summer.

So you blindly emailed the entire department? I'd imagine you're not doing much "research," just cleaning/prep? Or no? Still, that's awesome. I'm debating between study abroad/research/americorps/return home for this summer.

Really? I would think..crappy upbringing/struggling parents = motivation to NOT being in that situation...😎 What kinda sucks about my parents is that we went from living on the streets with no money to them being middle class....so I'm not disadvantaged...👎 Neither of my parents had an education coming here, but they worked their ***** off for my entire family..I guess their motivation and refusal to just settle for anything less kinda rubbed onto me?

I definitely agree that it's the last part. Most kids have terrible habits and a lack of desire because that was passed on down to them from their parents, who got it from their parents. That's why I think it's so hard for some people to rise out of poverty because it means becoming cognizant about their attitudes and behaviors. That's just my $0.02 and I could be completely wrong about that.

I was under the assumption there were summer programs, but I could be wrong... On another note, do I sense a cross-state, three-way, pre-med, intense alliance coming? 🙂

I don't think I'm mean/gunnerish enough to sabotage anyone, but not correcting their errors/misconceptions is a different story. We'll have this thread, and four years, to keep each other updated and have a secret alliance to confer with over the interwebs. Reading SDN always makes me motivated anyways
