I finally used my MCAT Amazon gift card for Cyber Monday shopping woot. Totally forgot I had it for a sec.

Took one of my finals today. Now I have a research paper and two finals left blah.
 
I kinda can't keep up with my friends, and I'm a complete failure with that. At least with you guys, you won't expect much from me.

Yeah I'm procrastinating today too. I had two exams today so now I'm watching new girl instead of writing an essay.
 
Does anyone have advice on powering through studying? I have an Intro to Psych final on Monday and then my Organic 1 final on Tuesday. I want to finish studying for Psych so I can devote more time to Organic 1, although I have to score higher on my Psych final than my Organic final to receive an A in both classes. (I want that feeling of really smashing the Organic final, though.)

Right now I feel like 😕:banghead::drowning::dead::hungover::sorry: because I keep getting distracted and the material for Psych really isn't that difficult, just long.

I shut off/hide all my electronic devices and Rubik's cubes to buckle down and study…turn off WiFi or unplug Ethernet. If you have a Mac, this app would be of extreme utility: http://selfcontrolapp.com. PC has: http://parker.kuivi.la/projects/selfrestraint, but it's a little buggy and doesn't work quite as well.

Also, do I spy a kpop star in your avatar..? Or is that you… *gasp* *fangirls* :naughty: 👍

I think I just need to relax more. 😕 And I wish... I took the picture from Suzy (miss A) during their promotion of I Don't Need A Man, which was what got me through finals last year.

Yep he told me that the first TOS violation is a warning, the second and third are holds, and the last one is a ban (which was interesting because aren't some posters banned right away?). He said he was going to be super careful about getting his 4th one, but I guess it didn't happen that way.

We were just having a similar discussion in the "What are your best tips for getting through finals exams?" thread. I'm also a quarter system student.

We had classes last friday (in which we were still learning content). Finals started monday and finish tomorrow.
3 down, 2 tomorrow. Thermo, Analytical chem, and Inorganic in the bag; Now just for Physics 3 and Chemical Information Retrieval.

Is exactly how I felt after Thermo final. I've never taken differential equations. On 2 of the problems, Part a of 6 parts: "solve the differential equation" and "integrate the differential rate". My answer: "I have no idea, so I'm putting this answer so I can get partial credit on parts b-f." The curve was fairly lenient though.

Heh pretty much the same here. Learning new stuff in the last week before finals... sigh.. I'm used to the pace anyhow... plus cramming.

And my sympathies about thermo. Though isn't that pchem? Thermo from the physics perspective is pretty messy lol. And analytical is the reason why I'm not a chem major.

It's the introductory class to pchem. For our first test the curve was A = 87+, B = 65-87, C = 45-65, D = 45-. And the final was harder than that one, so I imagine final grades will be curved on a similar scale.

And analytical is basically not chemistry. It's statistics meets EE meets a high school chem teacher.

Wait an intro to pchem class? And that's difficult? Wow, that sucks. Pchem isn't bad at all (at least for me), so hopefully you won't have a rough time. Studying about thermodynamics of electrolyte solutions can get intense lol.

And lol... as I figured.. about analytical chem.

Pchem is notoriously difficult at my UG. It's because they teach at a level way above the students. There's just an absurd amount of notation and math. It's technically a Thermo and Kinetics class, but we did maybe 2 weeks (the last 2 weeks) of reaction kinetics and the other 8 weeks + thanksgiving week on thermo/state functions/colligative properties/phase equilibria. We did a lot of derivations.

yeah most of my professors made classes optional before finals because they knew they were going to stick it to us.

Lol, I had so many ridiculous questions on my finals as well. I have an A by the skin of my teeth in 3 out of my 7 courses. The finals for those classes can essentially can drop me to an A- or B+:scared:. I'm just venting though... it just sucks to have an "A" all semester long only to might get an "A-" in the end +pity+..i know lol
