Senioritis is kicking in. We both have to kill the MCAT so stay motivated!

@sunflower18 @No Limits
Ah I'm a senior too. One full quarter (pchem?! noooo) and then three credits in spring, and freedom!! (freedom, as in "...what to do with life")

MCAT... sigh. No Limits how's prep going? You're taking it January right?

Oh gotcha. I'm a junior soooo 1.5 years. Not close enough!
hang in there, you'll see the finish line soon.

Freedom sounds really good right now lol.

I am taking it in January and prep has been pretty good. It was rough initially but things did get better when I forced myself to stick to a schedule. At this moment I just want to get it over with lol. How is your prep going?

Quarter system eh? Pchem is fun, though I can see why most of you guys hate it. The textbooks are supreme (like McQuarrie or Atkins) and it was basically the best chem class I've taken (apart from ochem).

Almost done with the Kaplan book! I keep seeing "250-350 hours" for suggested prep time, but there's not really much more to do after going through all the material besides practice exams. Do you think you're actually hitting 250-350 hours? Totally ridiculous...but the MCAT is worth the same thing as 4 years of classes sigh.

Did you have one semester of pchem, or two? My major has a "short series" (2 quarters, instead of the full-length 3) but the professor who teaches it tries to squeeze everything in the long series into the short series (hooray..... sigh) since she doesn't want to give up on sharing any of the exciting pchemistry she loves so much. Maybe I'll ask you for calculus help 😛 I think pchem has been the only class my entire undergrad where I pretty much had no idea what was happening after the second week hahahah.

Quarter school: only took one because I needed it to compensate my AP chem credit. Pchem sucks because the professor is usually bad in teaching, but the books are awesome.

@sunflower18 Sunflower are you planning on applying this upcoming cycle? 🙂

@sunflower18 will argue this cycle when it's really the following cycle.

@Agent B Oh I see. I wonder which pchem textbook I have... the prof was fine, I'm just dumb 😡 Aren't you applying this cycle also? You post on all the class threads so I got confused hahah

@sunflower18 Lolol sounds good 🙂 Man I can't even imagine applying between junior and senior year... I definitely thought junior year the hardest.

Ugh I'm supposed to be spending winter break going over all the MCAT content but all I can seem to do is eat, drink, and sleep when I'm not working. Give me all of your motivation!

Totally the same boat!! I've been rewarding myself with chocolate cookies every time I finish a section hahahah

Haha I'm jealous that you've finished sections. I've read the first 3 of my Orgo review book and that's about it.

Hahah what book are you studying from? It really helps to take a practice exam pre-studying as motivation ("this is how crappy your score will be if you don't start working").

Someone gave me their whole Kaplan set from last year. I already did that! Took a practice verbal and bio, didn't want to touch PS without studying first. Plus I haven't taken physics 2 yet.

@sunflower18 is a liar. Don't trust her! And I may have already applied, will apply or not sure lol. Still wavering.

That is...quite a confusing statement... :thinking:

Oh nice! I'm using a Kaplan book too. ..and a PR one hahah. I think ochem is the the most dense to get through... they just throw a ton of reactions at you 🙁
On a side note, do you go to school on the east coast by chance?

Yup I did. I graduated a year and a half ago and am doing my prereqs postbac now at a state school near my hometown (also on the east coast).

@Agent B please tell me you don't count the posts/page 😛
Lmaoo I really like this guy: :dead:

@CharmanderMD Hahah the "orgo" gave you away. Hooray for emerging from the lurking!

I've gone through the material more than once because I used EK and and TBR. I hated Kaplan so I stopped using it pretty quickly early on. I think I actually hit the 250-350 hrs or maybe more 🙁

Heh I didn't even think of that!

Neither did @silverturtle and @nOchemallday

Did you try to follow SN2ed's schedule? I went with the two big name brands (TPR and Kaplan) for prep books, but it seems like most people are saying the books all cover some material things, and practice exams are the most important.
