I didn't want to make a separate thread for this so I'll just post it here, but I'm sorry if this isn't relevant to that many people. Does anyone know if it's okay for me to be a part-time student next semester (my last semester) even though I put on AMCAS that I would be full time? Basically two classes that I thought I needed to take aren't actually necessary anymore. Specifically I'm asking about places that I already got accepted. Do I need to write to them to explain this or would they not care?

Funny you ask that, I have the same issue. I only need 3 more credits (1 course) for my major and am going part time next semester to do so and wanted to see if the schools I interviewed at would care in the event I got accepted.

Haha glad I'm not alone! And of course, I have to ask whether it would cause my acceptance to be reconsidered, just because I'm a neurotic premed. I highly doubt that would happen, though.

That's seriously impressive that you made it on time. I'm so glad that you didn't get really hurt and that your car isn't totalled or anything either! That still sounds like an incredibly stressful morning though, my goodness.

I rewarded myself with a hot chocolate. I think it was justified.

Wow. Seriously glad you are okay and that you know to get yourself checked up later. Let us know if you are truly okay after your GP visit.

I also got run over by a car this past Sunday. I'm fine now. Had two interviews on crutches and went out dancing on one foot. We ought to be more careful, there are a lot of people trying to kill us to take our seats away from the class of 2019...

@Boolean holy crap! So glad you are okay. That's not a good start to your hump day. 🙁 Hope the hot chocolate was a good consolation for your lab partner's response. It seems like auto accidents are plaguing SDN, especially with that "two accidents in one week" thread.

I've driven about ~80 miles per day for the past 5 years, so I count myself extremely fortunate not to have totalled my car. :xf: However, the day before my first interview, my friend was driving me to pick up some friends for lunch. On the way to their place, a pickup towing a boat lost control and rammed into the back of our car, essentially accordion-ing the trunk and rear seats. So glad we didn't have any passengers, because that would have been ugly. My friend got a concussion (she's okay, though) and I got a very impressive goose egg on my forehead. I had to do some creative hairstyling for my interview and was struggling with whiplash for the following week. However, the story made for a good icebreaker and I ended up getting accepted to that school, so I suppose everything's cool.

Needless to say, I'm ready to go to a school where I can minimize my commute time (or where I won't need a car at all). -___-

Thank you! Oooh... that's a hard one. Out of my current acceptances I'm down to UCSD and Mount Sinai – and there's no clear winner, because I loved both equally. I think financial aid may be the tiebreaker, though they are remarkably close in price for a state vs. private school. I'm hoping second look will make the choice for me.

In a perfect world where I was accepted at all my interviews, I think UCSF would be the winner for personal reasons, as it's basically the only city where I have a strong support network. We'll see. My emotions have been all over the place regarding the schools I interviewed at, with certain ones tugging at my heartstrings and whatnot. It's a good place to be, but oh gosh the feelings. I wish we didn't have to pick just one school. I could ramble for hours about all this.

I agree. I'm considering adopting an old puppy (11 years or something) that is low maintenence but got put up for adoption and just needs a nice safe place to live and be loved in 🙂

You absolutely didn't! I'm not surprised at all -- you're an amazing applicant 🙂 did they tell you how much the scholarship was for? Or are they all the same? Gosh I'm just so excited for you 🙂

Ahhhh yall are so supportive this makes me even more happy 🙂 yes they did say the scholarship amount - about 50 percent of tuition and living expenses per year if I heard them correctly (which I might not have I was so excited)

So one of my top top choices has started to make the call since last Friday evening. If I have an Okcupid profile, it'll say "on a typical Friday evening, I am....phone-staring at a quiet place with perfect reception."

Today I went to a meditation garden in LA. There was a labyrinth. After you walk the path and think of your wish, you can make the wish at the center. I hope it works!

Like the Boolean, I somehow magically walk away without major injury. So premed 2; world's attempt to kill us: 0

Funny the dog that I was walking (I do free dog care in my neighborhood) had more psychological trauma than I did. So much lights and sirens and people in uniforms really put a lot of strain on his fragile nerve. He loves me to the bone and turned super protective of me. It was problematic for the EMT to approach. The dog had to ride in the ambulance on my stretcher because he could not be separated from me. Everyone was super touched by his loyalty and I was super proud and sad and happy all at once.

My foot needs to sit tight in a airboot for about a month, but that's it. I love a good night out, dress up and go dance. Cann't let some small boo boo stops me. 😛

I would argue (with the support of @claduva94) that my things are naps and Harry Potter 😉 Star Wars is pretty high up there though!!!
