I may have the worlds worst recruiters. It's definitely not tax free.

So like ball park around $1500? per month
When do you actually receive the sign-on bonus?Talked to an Army HPSPer in September and he said he gets $1,045/biweekly paycheck (his residency is from a state with no income tax). If you live in a state with income tax, deduct that rate, and that will be it. As someone else mentioned, your W4 claiming can affect it too.
Also, he said the $20k sign-on bonus for the 4-year commitment was dispersed in two $7k installments and a third $2k installment for a total of $16k after taxes.
He could be misinforming you or you misinterpreted what he said.I may have the worlds worst recruiters.

He said he got his first disbursement about the third week of school with the next two coming every other weekWhen do you actually receive the sign-on bonus?
good deal thank youI think everyone receives it at about the same time( within the first month of so of school). As long as you have all your paper work situated prior to school starting that is.
I just submitted my AYS and other paperwork required for commissioning, now I'm just waiting for the scroll. For the people selected for Navy in February boards, have you been updated with anything else? @chan123 @crankymonkey @llcoolt
Which branch? If Navy, I'm literally in the same boat (no pun intended) and "my recruiter said" (always taken with a grain of salt) that there will be a March board...now that you mention it, my recruiter also said there were 61 scholarships available with 64 kits submitted hmmm...Has anyone heard about if there will be a March board? After missing both January and February boards (after completing application early December) my kit will finally be making it to review....my recruiter says that there are 61 HPSP scholarships still available with 64 kits submitted lol. Most likely I am receiving some misinformation?![]()

I had to renounce my other citizenship, so more paperwork for me, lolWhat other paperwork? I only got the AYS. Then he said that apparently they didn't have a matching acceptance letter? I sent multiple so I suppose that's why.
I haven't received any more updates, you? :/For the people selected for Navy in February boards, have you been updated with anything else? @chan123 @crankymonkey @llcoolt

Do you know when you will be able to commission? My recruiter doesn't seem to know when or what I need to do next...Nope just turned in the AYS and apparently had to send in acceptance letter again

According to my recruiter, 55 were given out this year. I'm not sure about oml though.Did anyone ever hear from their recruiter how many Army scholarships were awarded this year or how many people are on the OML?
What is AYS?Nope just turned in the AYS and apparently had to send in acceptance letter again
Academic Year Statement formWhat is AYS?

I don't think that's accurate, but I'm about to also throw out a number my army recruiters were telling me. They said there were ~60 OML on that first day I received the news. The week after, I heard there was ~40 OML. So it seems it must be moving fast.
Tell your recruiter to do it. That's what I didThose of you selected for HPSP/HSCP who are heading into dental school this summer/fall - did any of you get any push back from the registrar when asking them to fill out the Academic Year Statement (AYS)? My registrar is giving me some line about how they "can't confirm students" until school starts. What did you do?
Yea my school wouldn't send mine in until I had put a deposit down. That's pretty weird that they say they can't fill that out until school starts. As stated above I would just have your recruiter give them a call. Those of you selected for HPSP/HSCP who are heading into dental school this summer/fall - did any of you get any push back from the registrar when asking them to fill out the Academic Year Statement (AYS)? My recruiter said that a profile went in for me after being reviewed by the board for Navy HPSP but there are no official papers yet because congress has to approve it first. He makes it sound like I got the scholarship (but can't promise until there are papers), I'm still confused as to what this means. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks!
Hey guys, I just recently got my acceptance to UNE.. I've done all the paper work for the Army but have not done the MEP because my GPA waiver required me to get an acceptance before proceeding any further.. Do I have any chance this year or next year? Or is it too late for me to get the Army HPSP now? Thanks
As far as I know there was only one Army board this year, so yes, you are too late. You can still apply next year for a 3 year Air Force or 3 year Army scholarship.
I called my recruiter and he said I was chosen for the alternate list. He is expecting a call from the program manager tomorrow to give me more information.

I signed and commisioned last Friday. I boarded and was selected Late December. Hope this gives you rough timeline to go off of but I'm sure everyones timeline will be slightly different. If your recruiter said you were selected just relax and be patient. Your in!If anyone hears anything back for the Navy please post! Recruiter keeps saying I have to keep waiting for this paperwork...

What does that mean? Is that the scroll?Received a call from my recruiter stating that the computer shows my final select letter was signed! Still playing the waiting game until we find out my big day
What does that mean? Is that the scroll?
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do in this case?
