Yes and no. YES because the weather lately has ROCKED. No, because I'm PRETTY SURE its an anamoly...and next year I will be sorely disappointed 😛 It makes me more sure I'm going to end up moving back to CA some day!

I think we deserve the nice weather after all that snow! Now that was an anomaly!!! CA might have nice weather most of the year, but there's also earthquakes, mudslides, wildfires... No thank you!

I have never been in an earthquake (well, one that was particularly noticeable), near a mudslide, or near a wildfire in 12 years in L.A! Maybe I should get out more?

22 years in CA and I could count on two hands how many earthquakes I had been in, on one hand how many BAD fire seasons I went through (as in the sky was ashy and we had to be kept inside, not actually being somewhere where my house was in danger), and never actually experienced mudslides - though I heard about them on the news 🙂

I miss the weather, the good produce, the great food and shopping and being close to the beach. I think my trip to VA beach last summer reminded me how much I love being close to the water. It might be a while from now, but I'll probably end up going back some day!

it seems like there are lots of SDNers from cali in general... maybe thats why!?
 
But that doesn't explain why there are so many people who are GOING to UC Davis (although it is one of the larger classes, Penn, for example, has a similar class size). More than 10% of the UCD 2014 class is on SDN! It must be that UC Davis people, on average, are more technologically inclined, internet obsessed, and/or awesome (as being on SDN = awesome) than average. 😛 😛 😛 (I kid, I kid.)

It was a huuuuge surprise to get pulled from the waitlist at NCSU and very difficult to go back to the decision-making process. I LOVED Wisconsin, and my choice was made even harder due to the quality of the program, the city of Madison, and the kindness of the students and faculty. However, NCSU was always my first choice, and the location, closeness to home, cost, and chance to be done with long-distance relationships in two years were all too good to pass up. NCSU, Class of 2014!
