ok so a lot of ppl say the test is about breadth rather than depth. so should i not bothering trying to memorize nitty gritty info. like the name of the structure that covers fish's gills called operculum and whay not.

Thanks

The only part in Cliff's that I felt was excessive was the Plants chapter. The Biological Diversity chapter is also pretty dense, but if you want a decent chance at answering the 2-3 questions from that section, you have to spend a day or two memorizing everything about taxonomy. Just make tons of flashcards and it'll pay off in the end.

Hope this helps!

This is kind of like asking "what are my chances?", because no one really knows exactly what will be asked. Could the DAT ask you a question that pertains to the operculum? Sure. Is it super likely? Probably not. I can say that on my DAT, I had no questions that asked me to recall minute details about animal anatomy, other than humans. I bet after making this thread, though, you'll never forget what an operculum is... So for your sake, I hope it pops up on your exam! Haha. In all seriousness, start with the big picture, then work inwards for as long as time will allow.
