Only one this week. Although I’m realizing my list might have been a little too ambitious. Still hoping for 2-3 more in the next couple weeks. #stressed

I sent four today. My current rotation requires me to wake up at 5 AM (west coast time) so I wrote them all the day before and had them ready to go, hit send when I woke up. I received one invite from one of my top choices (east coast) within an hour. Nothing from the other three. I think there is something to be said for sending early in the morning so that your e-mail is there bright and early on the top of the inbox. However, I know someone who sent out one on a Friday afternoon and heard back today with an invite from a different program, so yes, we are all probably overthinking this. Send when you are ready.

I’m right with this panic crew got a rejection every day since Sunday. DO student here
 
I got officially put on a waitlist today. Not great but at least I know they read my application and gave me an answer. I feel like either there is something wrong with my app or people at the top are just hogging the interviews unnecessarily.

I have several friends who are holding on to over 15 interviews, even at places they know they would never want to go - because they don't want to let interviews go -_-

Because they see it as an ego thing in terms of interviews. I’ve seen some people in gas that have 30+ interviews. What ends up happening is that most people won’t get interviews until these people cancel a month or so from now.

Also heard back from some prelims that said they won’t interview till later in the season.
 
Holding on to an excessive of IIs, and not bothering to cancel unnecessary IIs is karma way of going to the SOAP despite having good stats. PDs nowadays talk to each other. I have heard of PDs in interviews knowing exactly the # of interviews that the students have despite them lying about the # and being called out about it after the interview. The same scenario has already happened on several occasions.

Nobody is going to more than 15 interviews at most.

What are you talking about? PDs have no way of knowing the number of interviews someone has unless that person volunteers such info. You’re on something else man

Heard of stories on several occasions >1 of PDs calling out an interviewee slightly for lying about having only 8-10 IIs, and then getting called out at the end of the interview about their actual IIs (15-20)

My points are don't lie and be a good sports by cancelling unwanted IIs with ample time (as in >2 wks)

So you’re telling me that a PD has the time to discuss the hundreds of interviewees with other PDs? Yeah, okay they just spent a whole month combing through the thousands they received. You’re hearing urban legends and passing them on. No one is allowed to even ask you where else you have interviews let alone call you out for lying.

Yup - it’s the site you’ll use for scheduling step 3, so if it says you’re eligible (requires passes on steps 1, 2ck, 2cs), you’re good! I also used it last year to find out that I passed.

Not having Level II scores released and won’t til mid-Dec basically means no more IVs and high risk to not match right? (Applying FM, have 4 iv’s) *panic commenced*

Program director survey for 2018 for FM: 74% of programs use it for interview invite so yes, potential that you may be on a stand still for now because of that.

SO had to push CS to January (only available dates)... uh oh (not applying FM though)

Seems like most programs just need that pass score specifically for CS (or PE for DO students) by the time ranking seasons comes by in February. I hope your scores come in fast then!!!

Any particular reason you pushed it back? That score may not be back before rank..and if you are borderline on the list, they may choose someone else knowing they are cleared to start residency.

Had it scheduled for Oct 30, with CK the week prior. Test CK wasn't great and with not enough time to study, decided to push CK so had to push CS. Only CS date available in the country was January 6th

That was a terrible idea to push. The score comes back in March. I would be checking every day at every site for something in November or December if I were you.

FML seriously... I can't do any work rest of the day and I just called her about it. This process is ****ing *****ic... she gave up an oct 30 date in Philly that I'm sure she's not getting back. Why can't they just have more dates for crunch dates in Oct/Nov/Dec? The amount of stupid **** med students have to go through just to potentially hurt their chances of matching, etc. is amazing.

That score will not be back on time, get any date at any location now or she will not be ranked by most programs. CS is also a test that basically just tests if you speak english. I got cutoff on 6 of 12 encounters and passed by a considerable margin....no need to study more than 2-3 days.

Check every day, usually a spot shows up.

I had mine scheduled for late October, checked in 3 days and found a date in July. Just keep checking. Sorry to hear about this.

Thank you - she just signed up for the open days e-mail alert and I guess we might look into bots to get this things scheduled. Given that we're in mid-October might be super tough...

I am currently applying anesthesia right now and its just sad with the DO bias especially from a new school.

I think you’ll probably catch something in November/December. Just have to be willing to go to any site

100% willing to go anywhere. Signing up for a few bots right now since manually it's impossible to get spots (especially when competing against bots).
 
Is there any way to see what programs are under probationary status and why? Google is failing me
