Are any programs requiring a pass on CS this year after it got canceled? I've been told programs aren't requiring PE to match...especially now that all PE exams got pushed back to April 1st.

Graet news. Got an email from the state to be ready to volunteer to administer the COVID vaccine as soon as it comes out. Should be fun. All states will need help if anyone is looking for a volunteer opportunity. Just search your state followed by volunteer registry.

Family med takes the ECs into account much more than other specialties. Showing a lot of leadership and community work will go a good distance for it.
What kind of numbers we talking? Asking for my soap strategy.
Then try a different field. Like FM is gonna be tough with bad CS.

Ehh he prolly applied to a bunch of very low tier places or is in a non competitive specialty. Cuz those scores would get nothing decent in IM.
I agree I did four back to back this week for EM. Each one had a pre-interview social as well. It was exhausting. All in all, I interviewed with 20 faculty. I am hard capping at 12-14.
Would you do 4 again back to back after experiencing that? What about 3?
It is doable for sure but sucks. I have an away rotation coming up so I am trying to avoid interviewing during that time window. If I could choose I would cap at 2 a week.

Been dry for me since Tuesday
Got one today but immediately waitlisted since there was only two spots left 🙁
Man I was certain today would be a great day. PCOM said they had to push their deadline back to Mon/Tue of next week so maybe more programs are having this issue.
Meanwhile the girl on my rotation with 28 interviews clicked “like” on 80 tweets for her favorite program and got an invite (could be unrelated lol).
she also went to like every open house, webinar, 15 minute lecture, meet and greet, etc ever. Maybe it worked?
I liked tweets of faculty at my top places during the surrounding days of eras opening. Figured theyd get a notification and it will say my name and have my ERAS photo and then when my app comes in it might make some kind of connection. Long shot but social media and virtual networking def seems to be helping for EM at least.

Got a hit today. Overall pretty good week but I was also expecting some more density. Maybe next week will be stronger.
Also got an email today from "selectwise" to do a screening survey for a program by the deadline. But it was weird, because no one ever told me about it, I have no login credentials, never heard of this etc. Wondering if something got lost in translation somewhere. Reached out to them either way. Anyone have experience with this platform?

Going off of this, my first II was a university program out of my region and the only connection I could think of was interacting on Twitter a bit leading up to the season. Could be coincidental. We’ll never know.
On the other hand, a program that interacted with me a lot that I was very competitive for didn’t show me any love so... ya idk haha
Getting interviews is such a short lived high. Got 2 today and I’m sitting here like WHY AM I NOT GETTING MORE INTERVIEWS?! Oh to be a neurotic med student[emoji23]
I have couple of them in February. It was the only date available so I had no choice. I'm hoping I'll be fresh in their heads when they start ranking.
I just schedule each new one in the order they come in at the earliest date tbh. I just want to be done interviewing as soon as possible though.

Is it just me, or is the idea that you need to like faculty tweets to get an interview completed absurd? As in this process is bonkers.

48 hours or so for me. It really is like a drug. Everything's wonderful when I get it but boy do I start to panic 48 hours later that I'm not going to match again. I need some sort of withdrawal protocol.

Just finished my first interview. Honestly wasn't terrible. Zoom was smooth.
I've got one in late January.
Well, she also sent me screenshots of the gifts she was ordering for our fellows and attendings...

Totally.....I've searched all the programs on IG and Twitter and followed all of them. Hell......I never even had a twitter or IG account until last month. I signed up expressly to follow programs since we can't physically visit and see what they're all about.
Oh my lord. I would be mentally slapping her like 10 times a day. I can't stand students like that.
Breh the rate at which these interviews get taken up is unbelievable. Are people literally sitting in front of their screens all day?
