I have been looking at the medicine spreadsheets. To me, it really seems very early still. Interviews are being slowly sent out in small batches it seems. Although a lot of people are saying most programs sent out invites already, its misleading. Its really most programs sent out "an invite" already. Could have been just a couple. I believe a big wave of IVs is coming in the next few days. We'll see.
Atleast for IM, It seems like its mostly community, mixed programs that have sent out IVs so far.

Hopefully the university programs start getting more active this week!

Lol that is crazy. For a USIMG I believe 200 is where you want to be to be safe unless you got crazy scores. Not worth taking a risk after coming so far. A friend of mine with 230s and no red flags applied to 220 IM programs. In my situation I targeted every IMG friendly program that didn't require 1st pass CS on Freida or their site page and that's what it came out too.

Are any programs requiring a pass on CS this year after it got canceled? I've been told programs aren't requiring PE to match...especially now that all PE exams got pushed back to April 1st.

Graet news. Got an email from the state to be ready to volunteer to administer the COVID vaccine as soon as it comes out. Should be fun. All states will need help if anyone is looking for a volunteer opportunity. Just search your state followed by volunteer registry.
My city is letting us do it as a full rotation

I did my best to volunteer throughout the pandemic. Did some testing, case investigating. Have a few other volunteer experiences from basic sciences and rotations. TA few times. Clubs. But had to take Step 3 and work to keep some sort of income so didn't do as much as I wanted. FM is just so die hard CS. My LORS/MSPEE/Transcript are rock solid. Just don't seem like they are willing to overlook it despite my entire app contradicting what this exam aims to assess.
Then try a different field. Like FM is gonna be tough with bad CS.

I suspect after people actually do a few they will start to drop. Sitting on a zoom call in a room for 3-6 hours is exhausting. Not to mention the pre interview socials for each. Fatigue will set in. I'm looking at my scheduled IIs now I can tell i'm gunna get my butt kicked with rotations, pre interview socials, and interview. I have no intention over doing more than the CORD recommendation for EM (17, if i'm even lucky to get that many). 12-15 much more likely for me.
I agree I did four back to back this week for EM. Each one had a pre-interview social as well. It was exhausting. All in all, I interviewed with 20 faculty. I am hard capping at 12-14.

Would you do 4 again back to back after experiencing that? What about 3?

Participated in a ton of webinars these past few weeks. Hasn't seemed to help at all. I need a pick me up IV asap.
Meanwhile the girl on my rotation with 28 interviews clicked “like” on 80 tweets for her favorite program and got an invite (could be unrelated lol).

she also went to like every open house, webinar, 15 minute lecture, meet and greet, etc ever. Maybe it worked?

I liked tweets of faculty at my top places during the surrounding days of eras opening. Figured theyd get a notification and it will say my name and have my ERAS photo and then when my app comes in it might make some kind of connection. Long shot but social media and virtual networking def seems to be helping for EM at least.

Got a hit today. Overall pretty good week but I was also expecting some more density. Maybe next week will be stronger.

Also got an email today from "selectwise" to do a screening survey for a program by the deadline. But it was weird, because no one ever told me about it, I have no login credentials, never heard of this etc. Wondering if something got lost in translation somewhere. Reached out to them either way. Anyone have experience with this platform?

Going off of this, my first II was a university program out of my region and the only connection I could think of was interacting on Twitter a bit leading up to the season. Could be coincidental. We’ll never know.

On the other hand, a program that interacted with me a lot that I was very competitive for didn’t show me any love so... ya idk haha

Anyone else schedule their IVs late? Have them from Dec-Feb. Really want to be prepared for them and build on each one. And want to be one of the last candidates to leave a strong impression to help me in the rankings.
I just schedule each new one in the order they come in at the earliest date tbh. I just want to be done interviewing as soon as possible though.

I’m the opposite. All 5 of my current interviews are in November.

I have to start limiting myself to looking at that Reddit spreadsheet to only once a day.

sometimes looking actually helps me. Like if it’s a slow morning or most of them aren’t places I applied to

I've got one in late January.

Jeez if that doesn't smack of brown nosing, IDK what does.
Well, she also sent me screenshots of the gifts she was ordering for our fellows and attendings...

edited to add:
Demands the resident to assign us studies to read for the weekend;

If she has to miss morning for an interview, she comes in for the afternoon.

etc

Oh my lord. I would be mentally slapping her like 10 times a day. I can't stand students like that.

Breh the rate at which these interviews get taken up is unbelievable. Are people literally sitting in front of their screens all day?

I got one today, saw it coincidentally immediately as a notification, read it in 1 minute, went to ERAS scheduler, clicked on the first date and the first 3 dates are already gone. All within like 3 minutes. Brutal.
