I am a High School Sophomore with an ACT score of 24 composite and a GPA of 4.0

I live in Tennessee- I need to find a college that offers it but..... I can't seem to find one! 🙁

I plan on attending Roane State Community College in 2008 and get my A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology.

I know I need a BS in order to become a Radiologist, but I don't know where I can go to school to become one. Could someone please tell me what to do? I also need someone to explain exactly what I will have to do before I can become a certified Radiologist. you can also email this at the following email address:

Thanks!

Amusing or not, she's just a confused high school kid who needs some direction and guidance into the process.

You can't be a radiologist with only a BS degree. You need to become a medical doctor first. After your BS degree (preferably from a good college or university), you need high GPA scores, high MCAT scores, and a whole bunch of other things to get into medical school. In medical school, you have to be among the top students, have high USMLE scores, perform very well in school, etc. to be able match into a radiology residency program, which is currently very competitiveto get into. The radiology residency will finish in five years after medical school graduation. So we are talking at least 13 years (4 years college + 4 years medical school + 5 years radiology residency) after high school before you can become a radiologist (and only if you are a top student all along the way).

I think you are confusing it with a "radiology technology" program. For that, you just need two years of training and a certifying examination with the ARRT.
