Have acceptances and rejections for U of Colorado School of Medicine and Keck School of Medicine come by email or snail mail? Thanks
 
My understanding when I interviewed at Colorado was that if you hadn't heard anything by Christmas, you won't hear anything until March when the mass decision is mailed. Some decisions are sent to applicants they're especially interested in, but the majority won't hear anything until March.

Based on my experiences from this year and last year at Colorado, they email both rejections and acceptances, usually sometime in March. The acceptance email is then followed with a snail mail letter.

I just interviewed today and Sean said he had just emailed out 700 rejections this past week.
 
hrmm... I wonder how many of those were pre-interview and post-interview.
 
I think they were all pre-interview. They only interview about 550 people altogether. He made it sound like you won't actually get a rejection post-interview until March 15th.
 
I was rejected pre-interview earlier this week and my little sister got one last week by e-mail.

when were you complete? i haven't received an email yet but was complete pretty late...
 
i interviewed on 1/18 and they said they had mailed out about 80 acceptances and were going to mail out more that day...he didnt say anything about rejections

i think the rest comes around march 15...i think it was march 8th that i got rejected last year

despite all this i think about it everytime i check my email
 
For what it's worth, I'm OOS and I just got the acceptance email today. I interviewed in mid-January.
 
I'm also OOS and received an acceptance email today. I liked the school, but I'm concerned about the cost of attendance. They didn't sound very generous with scholarships/grants.
 
if you dont mind can ask what your mcat/gpas were? just to see if you were shoe ins or not...congrats but if you are worried about the cost i will have no problem with you calling and asking for me to take your place

any instate people get acceptances today or recently?

I'm jealous! I am IS, interviewed on Feb 1st and was told that we wouldn't hear back until March 15th. They must have really like you two that received acceptances today. Do those that were accepted today have killer stats?

Like postbaccer, I was no shoe-in. After performing poorly in one interview, I was expecting a prompt rejection. Good luck to those who are still waiting...March is sneaking up quickly!
 
well there is a big difference between a 39 or 36 and a 31, i called today and was told i would find out in march and that I was iffy (for even the waiting list) so i have stuffed myself with nasty fast food and am going to take a long nap until i stop feeling worthless

wow they told you over the phone that you were iffy for the waitlist ??? now I'm tempted to call... but I wouldn't even know what to say haha.

i think i would have rather waited for the news. I guess iffy shouldnt be taken 100% as bad news. it sucks because i know my gpa is lower but I think I interviewed amazingly...both seemed to love me and think i did everything right as a re-applicant and that I had a chance this year (or i just suck at judging my own interviewing skills b/c i thought this last year too)

well maybe i will set the record for number of years applied

Iffy could just mean you're in the middle third. That's the section that really doesn't know their rate, so you might get in, you might not.

Has anyone else been accepted or rejected over the last few weeks? Any idea how many more weeks the U of CO expects to be interviewing?

i just received a rejection email. was complete around august.
 
i know they are interviewing today (my friend has one) and they said when i interviewed that they were interview every monday and friday till the end of feb., which would make today the last interview day..but they might still have one on friday

oh the waiting!
 
I thought another thread mentioned they are interviewing until the middle of March this year.
 
Sean mentioned that March 15th will be the day that interviewed applicants will be notified.
 
frisbee is right, that is what he told me...i am pretty sure he said interview will end at the end of feb.
 
I called Sean last week (hoping to get a little hint about my application as previous callers have) and he said he is still shooting for March 15th.

However, March 15th is a saturday... so will it be friday March 14th or Monday March 17th???? Oh...the agony of waiting. I will probably call again during the second week of March to see if he will specify a day.
 
talked with my friend who interviewed on monday...he said their will be five more interview days and that everyone that interviews on those days wont be notifiied till the end of march...everyone else, include the group from monday, will find out on the 15th (which still is a saturday, so i assume 14th) and thats getting closer
 
Arrrrrrgggg... the waiting. I interviewed in the first group, back in mid October. Still waiting. Stiiiiiiiiiill waiting.
 
13 days left!!!!!! (Or perhaps 12 if friday the 14th ends up being the Big Day!)

Where did you hear this rumor? I talked to Sean last week and he said they'd be out around March 15th.

anyone get the "please fill out the survey if you havent" email today. That is just cruel, you see an email from CU and it is nothing important (at least not to us)

I got that email too. In fact, I've gotten it several times, and I definitely filled out the survey a looonngg time ago lol.
 
so i just looked at all of the MDApps profiles on this tread and realize that i am the lowest qualified applicant...great feeling, well hopefully there is a lot of dumb people who aren't on here and not too many smart people...i am tired of applying and dont want a third round

Did you see my undergrad GPA? That should make you feel better. We'll see if the master's degree + teaching A&P at the college level will help at all....

I got that email from Sean, too. I'm sure glad he puts "survey" in the title otherwise I probably would have had a heart attack seeing it.
 
Just wanted to wish everyone here the best of luck. I really think that waiting to hear back is hands-down the worst part of the entire application process. Don't forget to drop by the Class of 2012 thread to introduce yourself when you're accepted!
 
Just talked to Sean and he said that he hopes to have the emails sent out tomorrow (friday, March 14th) late, late afternoon.
