Hi,

Congratulations to all those who have completed their interview at colorado today....

Please share the details of the interview.... what was asked..... what were the wax exercises? prepns? how was the faculty etc. etc.

Thanks and good luck to all
cant wait to hear from you.............

i personally did not go for the interview but I feel everybody deserves a fair chance .everybody has worked hard and gone and delivered their best..asking which wax exercises and which preps seems unethical to me..no offense...but please prepare and go and give your best,,good luck

its interesting for me if it is unethical why would you have click on this link to follow what is going on,i bet you were looking for some information either, hey dont get mad at me but each week of interview they choose the students they want so it doesn't mean that if some one is better next week because of more preparation and knowing the wax exercise has more chance. the faculty understand that. :xf:
just be helpful there are enough space for everyone.

I was there last year...thats why i clicked 🙂 I have no other comments for you god bless !!!

i suppose none is ready to share, was it that bad guys

Anyone having a general idea about how it went? Was it a relaxed atmosphere or what.. you knw the kind of anxiety you have before some imp events.. so u need someone to ask abt how it was..

guys..colorado dental school staff is the most courteous of all..they are very nice people..there is no need to be nervous..they really dont stress you at all.its a general interview..more of an interaction..good luck to everyone!!

Hey another question,
i have heard they provide you meniquins and cheeks too... is there enough opening to put your instruments through, retract and work?? i ve not practiced under indirect vision at all..... is it possible to have direct vision on maxillary teeth if we tilt the meniqin and our neck a little???

Pls pls help............

Yes they will have the manniquin with cheeks that we don't have while we practice at home. But you will be able to tilt the manniquin and easily retract the cheeks. However, the practical will be tough, as i think they dont give adequate time.

Wax exercise also takes lot of time, more than you expect. As there you have to carve with hands which takes time.

Hi Porcelain,

thank you for the feedback..... the thing that i am scared the most is about indirect vision.... so were you able to see the maxillary teeth directly by just tilting the maniquine.... i am sorry to sound inquisitve but how far below can we tilt the maniquine?? does it come to a level where we can maintain about proper elbow position.... sorry for so many questions....

hey guys i have interview on 24th.....any1 looking to share accommodation plz pm me.

hi trinitin....i was there last year for the interview and as far as i remember they are not concerned about ur mannequin position. I saw many people working in almost direct vision. Rest i dnt knw bout his year. Hope this helps.....
all the best

don't fear about anything.it was one of the most well organized interview sessions i ever attended.staff, faculty and current students are very very good people.
my advise:
-don't prepare for the answers as it kills the natural flow of conversation[i didn't prepare for answers either],however just think of the possible usual questions that can be asked wrt to yr resume and sop. Mind you, interviews are not an eye wash here, and are for good 35-50 minutes.Three people interview you two faculty and one current student. It is a structured interview and very detailed basically about you and yr experiences and future goals etc.Few questions on ethics, but not difficult to answer at all.No clinical/academic questions, so don't worry about that either.Nothing to prepare for interview as such
-practical :gold crown on lower molar and class2 on upper molar, it can be different for u guys though
-wax excercise [can't prepare for it] just try to save more than 1 hour on this one if possible
overall a very good experience with good campus and wonderful atmosphere
wish u all the very best!

can you also tell whether you used matrix bands too?

Hey guys...
Dont worry about the interview so much... Its really like conversation... U can adjust the speed of the handpieces according to convenience. Its not really difficult. About 50 people were interviewed. Some people did use matrix bands but when some of them asked for it, they were not allowed to use them. So just take yours along and u might be allowed to use them. Good Luck everyone.

hi guys... can u plz let me know how long did the whole interview and clinical exam last.. i mean when did it start n when did the whole thing finished... i need to schedule my flights accordingly.. thanx

Hi...

It started at 8am. The students who had their clinical exam in the first half finished as soon as their respective interviews got over but those who had their clinincal exam in the later half finished at 4 pm.. So u need to plan your flight bookings accordingly as you dont know which group u'll fall under.

best of luck to everyone on their interviews.

Please refrain from disclosure of information that might give someone an unfair advantage over another candidate in the same position. We are all professionals here and should be able to get by on our own ability, right?
