exactly. its very important that evarybody actively particiate now. as its a end results and we are not sure yet .how many spots are available.

Denverdental, please can you be a little bit more specific? It's a bad school? I was planning to apply there next week. 😱
I read in another thread that because of the number of students, there aren't many dental chairs and you have to share.
 
you are right. they just want the money. you will be working as a dental assistant. they have lot of problems

I can imagine the frustration after paying so much money and not learning or have the chance to practice.
I hope they can solve all the problems they have.
 
I don't think that it's true. they have plenty of chair. thought they took a lot of student this year, 36 instead of 24 like last year, but they closed the hygiene program, so they have extra 20 chairs. there is also plenty of pt in there. so I don't understand where is the problem. Talking about the money, every school in the States wants the money, and they charge even more. it's a Capitalism country anyways.

Very wrong judgment. They have beautiful clinics and building and the staff over there is so helpful and friendly, you won't believe it. About the fee just check one of the post in SDN where one of the SDNer has did a research on fee plan of every dental school in USA. There you can see CU is second cheapest school in the entire USA. They have number of patients and the incoming class will start doing patients in April or May. So don't get misguided.

I have friends who have just finished their first year, and some others who just finished their 2nd year. I talked to them about the availability of patients, and the quality of the education, no body complained at all. I am starting my classes soon, I will let you all know if that it's true.

They have clinical exam, CRN prep, Class II, and wax exercise. If they invite you for an interview, they will send you the details of the exam.

You will have to prepara class 2 cavity and a crown prep pfm or gold
all this will be on a typodont not a pt...they usually give u everything needed but u can take ur own burs, instruments safety glasses etc.....
u ll have to make wax patterns they will show u wht shape to make thts teh easiest part of exam
 
i was at the isp graduation on friday. they are starting a new international felloship program to make more money. they will b enrolling 5 foreign traned dentist eho will be assisting and working in the lab and at the end of the year will be given a certificate. the cost 60K. It is being run by a faculty who was caught with a married ISP student in the parking lot two years ago.......i would be careful if i was a female applicant. one of the new faculty from the army is dating a married second year ISP student. This whole place is in a mess!!!!!!

The certificate you are talking about is a DDS degree? In only 1 year?

Sorry to say that but their requirement is 95 in Ibt so you need 95 or more to be considered as a potential candidate. Just improve them you have enough time. Good luck.

I have applied in colorado about 3 months back, but didn't get any application completion mail and wen i called them they said i should ask them through mail but i didn't get any response of my email. pls let me know if anybody in same situation and how will i know?

Just be patient if you sent the e-mail not long ago. JM processes the applications for ISP al by herself, thus probably the delay.

just wanted to know that as the website says that they give preference to students with part2 scores , does it means that there is no use of applying to Colorado university with only part 1 scores or we still have any chances, please some one help on this.

you should apply as i have known of students who have got admission in colorado last year and they had not taken part 2..
 
how many foreign-trained dentists do they accept each year?
 
colorado isp program is horrible!! just ask the new students who have been here for a month. they just want the money and treat the students poorly...

i don't know where you get your "news" but that's not true. that's sort of like black propaganda to me. As a student, they treat us well and i don't have any complaints.

For those applicants for 2011, just be patient. Last year, the deadline of the application was April 1 and we were called around 2nd week April as well for the interview. I don't know if that goes the same for this year but at least you'll have a pretty good idea. IF you guys feel that Univ of Colorado is the school for you, apply. It's up to you if you'll listen to detractors. Good luck!
 
We are having a wonderful time here in UCSODM as ISP1 students and its just like a second home to all of us. The faculty and ISP 2's are really very helpful and friendly. I am grateful to God for everything here. You will be amazed to see the state of the art facilities here. I am really very happy to be here. I have seen other school too during my interviews last year but I haven't seen school like this which is a lot better than other dental schools in USA. Good luck everybody who is applying this year. My advise is don't get distracted by these false and self made rumors.

I have had the same problem, i can never get a message back from her and i've sent her several emails. and i've called her and heard nothing back. Im starting to worry!

I had a friend who applied and had an interview about 3 years ago, back at that time they said they care a lot about the clinical performance, that friend-classmate cuts teeth like a pro but he never was selected!
Maybe he made some big mistake in the practical exam... I am not sure.

I dunno if things changed in the present, especially that the director who was there 3 years ago was changed.

Can someone give me some idea if there was a major change in criteria of selection?
 
1.Do the RE-applicants also have to send all the required documents again this year?

2.And on the application its mentioned that for part2 scores to be considered, scores should reach before deadline. r they very particular about this rule?
anybody guys who were invited for the last year interview.. they had the same rule.

I also wanted to know do they consider the candidates with part 1 and those who ave also given part 2 similarly?

Can u give some more details about bench test and overall interview process?

MY toefl and GPA are pretty good but nbde part 1 score is not that well though its over 80. Do u think i have any chance?

I really appreciate ur help.

Part 1 is the basic requirement but if you have taken part2 that will improve your chances though no guarantees. At least meet all their minimum requirements, as you know there is a lot of competition so more scores you have more your chances will be called for an interview but everything counts other than the scores. whether you have chance or not depends upon the candidate pool this year which I don't know. Just be relaxed and prepared for anything. Good luck.

thanks KINGKONG for prompt reply..i havent taken part 2..i have toefl , gpa and part 1..so can u advice me what they specifically "look" or rather what are their criteria to giv an interview call..there may b some minor things like good sop or resume..I agree that it depends on applicant pool but last year when u got u must be knowing some who got with either good gpa and avg nbde score ( like me) or good nbde part 1 score and avg gpa?

Also given the fact that i may not take part 2 immediately before i apply so i also wanted to know that 36 students selected last year, has everyone gave part 2 or there were some students who were selected only on part 1? And out of those, what was avg nbde part 1 score if u know particularly..

Thanks a lot..its really proving helpful..i appreciate ur advice..

Some people said ISP program accept 36 internationsl students every year. Is that ture?

I will have all my documents ready on Mar.30th, right before the deadline. Would that be too late to apply? With most guys applied way back last year, do you think there's still any chance for me? GPA: 3.6. nbde I: on the way.

I am a current student in CU, and I have talked to the program director of the ISP program today and i have the permission to post that CU will invite 150 most promissing applicants for interviews, and the class size will NOT be less than 36 students, interviews will start on May 2nd, and there are three interview dates during May. The program coordinator is super busy and simply can't reply to everyone, if you are chosen for interview you will be contacted via email.

i want to know that when do they call the last batch for interview ,in which month because i cant come to usa until july so if i apply now ,will they consider my request or do you suggest i wait for other colleges
also i took toefl on 6th of march but havent got results of that!please reply soon coz i have little time left.especially ppl who are already enrolled if they can ask the program director n inform me .
