I'm not 100% sure that I'm going to Columbia right now. I'd like to see if I hear something from the UCs, but if not, NYC here I come!
Halitosis said:hey freedy,
when does orientation start? also, will the textbooks you used this sem be the same as textbooks for fall 05? if so, can we buy some of those books to get a preview? thanks, man!
SillyRabbit said:Keep in mind too though that the syllabus does change. Last year it was the same material but they had different text than we did. So things do change and you just won't know for sure till you get here.
Halitosis said:sillyrabbit,
i heard tests don't change much from year to year. is that true?
can we see your syllabus? i tried the columbia p&s website for sdos syllabus...everytime i click on year one link it takes me to the sdos website which does not have the syllabus. please help out.

Halitosis said:would you want to memorize 5 anatomy terms per day? i was thinking abt doing that, but probably end up memorizing only 3.
, and do all that stuff. might as well do it now when i'm young and to get it out of my system before i settle down in school and become boring. unfortunately, no dinero, so i may just have to settle for a road trip or something.
vandy_yankee said:does anyone know what the exact curriculum for the four years is?
i spent a few minutes browsing the website but could only find vague descriptions of 1st-4th year, no outline of the exact classes or timelines. i remember seeing the layout of classes and timelines either during the interview or the AADSAS sponsored book...but i need to know right now (and alas my book is at school).
oh and mrbenny, to save dinero, pb+jelly sandwiches mooched and squirreled away from the breakfasts that motels offer go a looong way. my dentist told me he ate nothing but pb everyday during dental school. you would think he'd be sick of it, but even now there are still jars and jars of pb in his pantries at home![]()
Uconn is as good as columbia. I would go to Ucon if I were you.. you would save alot of money.qaztake82 said:whats up columbians, i am leaving for the big apple from chicago today. the purpose of my trip is to make a final about which dental school i really want to attend. i have narrowed down the choices to columbia and uconn. the main reason this choice is difficult is that there is a difference of over 80000 dollars between the schools. i was wondering if others in this forum had to make a similar decision and still chose columbia despite the cost. and WHY????
t12kim said:I sent deposit yesterday and send letters to schools that i was accepted that i am not going there. It might sound stupid, but i am kind of worried now..what if columbia says, your acceptance was a mistake. I should have sent a deposit to a backup school, right? what did you guys do?
paolorossifan said:Why would you be worried?? Did you hear of them making mistakes?? Now you have me worried!!
) but i don't want to be too stressed either. then again, dinero is a must. how much does a kidney go for on the blackmarket nowadays?
