I think the TOTAL number of apps is higher and the number you gave is TOTAL interviews.
Just do it man. I would not have gone to that interview if I had found out that there were that many interviews...but I ended up just doing it without knowing and finding out later (cursing myself)...But then I GOT IN! Really wild. I would definitely just apply and go to your interview if I were you. Who knows?!
That could be a correct out-of-state number. For the entering class of 2001, only 2,537 applied of which 22 percent were in-state (according to the AAMC).
For 2002, the numbers might have been lower. The AAMC will publish the official 2002 numbers in November.
this is what usnews has for fall 2001:
Applied Interviewed Accepted Enrolled
Total: 2,552 1,191 306 150
Instate: 557 245 48 24
Out of st:1,995 946 258 126
Scooby, why wouldnt you have gone if you had known haow many they interview? I think its great that they give so many interviews!
