Hey Brady!
What program are you applying to at Columbia? I got accepted to the Healthcare Mgmt program, and plan to attend this fall. I have a lot of family in NYC and from what Ive heard Washington Heights (the medical campus) is really not that bad to live in. The campus aint all that pretty, but then again, ure in NYC! And that has its own advantages. Im in India at the moment but do plan to go visit next week. If you go to www.cumc.columbia.edu, they have a virtual tour of the medical campus. Thats all I got! Hope it helps!
Stay in touch and all the best!

I'd like to meet some current and new Columbia MPH students to learn about the MPH program and learn more about nyc. I'd love to see some posts on this website or you can email me at [email protected]

Lovely people there. Beware: NYC is not a slow or cuddly city, but there are a lot of people doing interesting and challenging work there. Not a fancy campus, but it is not so important to look pretty while you get your degree, and you can visit other spots in the city that are more aesthetically pleasing when you need a dose of charm! 🙂

I'll be studying epidemiology this fall at Columbia. I have a few cousins that live in nyc, but most of them live south of 1st street. Are you from India or do you have family there? By the way...where do you plan to live in new york? I submitted a dormatory housing contract and plan to live in the dorms if I get a good assignment. Talk to you soon.

That is true...it will be kinda nice living in new york city, but not right in the middle of it all. Thanks for the info everwell.

Im planning to live off campus around the main campus. A 10 minute commute wouldnt be bad, and I being closer to where the action is wouldnt hurt. Im from Atlanta actually, but in India on vacation till school starts.
Good luck all!
