Quick question:

I just mailed the acceptance form back to P&S. Did we have to send a deposit??? All of a sudden, I can't remember and of course, the copy I made of the form is at home and I'm at work. Can anyone confirm--I don't remember seeing that we did but now I'm paranoid lol.

Thanks in advance! And sending good vibes to those still waiting!!!

Just got my mail with nothing in it...again. I'm guessing I got whatever they sent Monday.

Don't worry, there was no deposit.🙂

In Massachusetts, just got the waitlist today, postmarked 2/29

sorry to hear that Timcheng. I'm hoping for one of those today too!

Blah. March isn't looking like a good month so far. Still haven't heard in TN. Just want to finish this process. I think I'm getting jaded...

Did you already get your mail today?

there are different opinions about the letters sent out on monday, were they rejections only? did anyone receive a letter postmarked monday?

my mails go to Boston, but I am out of town and can't check till next monday. It's driving me crazy!

Just called the admissions office. They said they finished mailing out all admissions decisions yesterday. They said that they had mailed out MOST of their acceptances on Friday (which means they might have sent some on Monday?).

:luck: to those of us still waiting.

I hear that. Congrats on all your acceptances though! I'm really hoping to hear good news from Wash U, but that's looking less and less likely as well.

Thanks for calling! It gives us a shred of hope for today!

But crap, they also mailed out some decisions yesterday? Man, that means waitlist and rejection letters might not reach some of us until the end of the week...

So they were still mailing on Tuesday? When I called they said they finished on Monday. Hmm, sometimes I think they just like to screw with us 🙂

nope. not yet. :luck: to ya though!

The reason I ask is that I'd expect you to have gotten at least a waitlist. I'd be shocked if you get a rejection. So, I'm hoping that some acceptances were indeed mailed on Mon which means we should receive them today!

I got my waitlist today. The letter was postmarked 2/29, and I'm in New Haven, so I don't have a clue why it took forever and a day to get here. But in either case, it means there's still hope for those of you who haven't heard yet (i.e. it's not necessarily a rejection).

That, and the waitlist letter is actually kind of thick, though it's in a small envelope. You'll know you're waitlisted because you can clearly see the return envelope they've got folded around the letter inside.

Also, Columbia loses major points for addressing my letter to Mr. ______. I'm a girl.

Oh well. GOOD LUCK to everyone who's still waiting!!!

Yeah nata, I don't see any way that you aren't accepted or at the worst waitlisted. Nothing else makes sense.

just got the waitlist in connecticut. i'm a little skeptical though because has anyone been rfull-out rejected yet? maybe they send rejections later...

To those that were waitlisted, did you not send a thank-you note? To those accepted, did you send one?

There are tons of excellent candidates in this thread that were waitlisted. I think I'll join you guys soon. I'm wondering, though, if that has anything to do with the fact I didn't send a thank-you note/LOI?

I sent in both. still waitlisted.

waitlisted near Hartford, CT. slightly bummed, but more encouraged than anything because it's not a no! now's my chance to really show them how much I want this

I sent a thank-you but not a LOI, if that helps.

I sent a thank you note, but not an LOI. (And in case anyone was wondering, I didn't get any kind of response to my thank you note).

waitlisted in Philly.. postmarked feb 29.. sent in thank you note but not a LOI.. oh well

good luck to all still waiting!

Nothing in the mail yet, and I live just a few hours away from NYC. I know what I and I want it now. I want P&S....

waitlist letter came today in Pittsburgh. I haven't seen the letter, my AMCAS stuff all goes to my parent's house so I'm not sure on the date.

After the interview, I sent an email to Dr. Frantz saying along the lines: unfortunately I wasn't able to speak with you directly but I just wanted to thank you for such a nice interview day...I really like your school...I'd fit in well because...blah blah blah. It wasn't a LOIntent, but LOInterest for sure.

He sent me a letter back, I'm pretty sure it was very similar to the letters other people got.

danget ... i feel a rejection or another waitlist coming from columbia .... serisously ... im happy to have one acceptance at a great school ... but 14 interviews and only one acceptance ...... 🙁 .... and my interviews went pretty well ....

So far:

earliest acceptance - Mar. 1
latest acceptance - Mar. 4

earliest waitlist - Mar. 3
latest waitlist - Mar 5

Man today is looking grim for those of us still hoping for an acceptance... I am not looking forward to my mailbox later :scared:

I mailed a thank you letter right when I got back from my interview, but I didn't send a letter of interest/intent. Also, I interviewed there in early February, you know, in case that helps anyone with any kind of calculations about this whole crazy process 🙂

Wow, I didn't even know that people sent additional letters of interest/intent. I'm Canadian and only applied to a few American schools so I am a bit out of the loop. Here it is not even customary to send a thank you note, as far as I know. Sometimes you don't even know the names of your interviewers anyway. I did send one to my interviewer at Columbia because we had such an interesting talk and I really liked her.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone from Canada is posting on or reading this thread. I would expect mail to take longer to get here (our mail does not move on the weekends and is not delivered either Saturday or Sunday) but I'm wondering if I should give up any hope of an acceptance since it is already Wednesday and so many people have received acceptances. If anyone has any insight I'd appreciate it!

Thanks and good luck 🙂

nothing in the mail in the SF bay area today...looks like a change of scenery to life out east is looking less and less likely 🙁

Got my waitlist letter today. It was a nice ride for a while.

Sigh, waitlisted, finally. Postmarked 2/29. Cambridge, MA.

waitlisted. boston. postmarked 2/29.

Finally got my waitlist letter (in boston...postmarked 2/29) and one from NYU too. I doubt I'll stay on either of them as I've got some great choices in NYC already. Good luck everybody!

hey, waitlisted today, postmarked 2/29. was sent to my house in syracuse 😱

Hey everyone, I'm in Santa Barbara, Southern/Central Coast California, and I got a waitlist letter today. We tend to get stuff a little slower than LA or SF by a day or so it seems, being 1-2 hrs north of LA and 4-5 south of SF.

I'm pretty happy with the alternative list offer, acceptance would have been nice, but I'm glad to still be alive and have a shot. It seemed at my interview that lots of students had gotten in off of the alternative list.

Good luck to everyone this spring, and I know I'm guilty of it too, but this board is ridiculously neurotic.

Waitlist in boston here, too. Maybe they are holding tom brady against us . . . .

Awesome. A small white envelope arrived today dated Feb 28, but postmarked Mar 03. And it stated: "Your Cornell v. P&S decision is now a much easier one, 'cuz you sure ain't coming here." Feels good. Feel liberated.

Good luck.

Oh sorry, I edited my post earlier with the location. I'm in Cambridge, MA.

nata723 is my gauge here. If she doesn't get in then all hope is lost.:scared:

Congrats Snips. I like your beaver, they're amazing little creatures.

That's what he said.

zing!

I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself. 😳

Anyway, congrats to everyone who got in! And to those who were WLed, just know that a good portion of our class came off the WL... just start bombarding Dean Frantz with love letters. :luck:
