Hi, I am thinking of applying to some combined specialties i.e. internal medicine- Psychiatry, internal medicine- peds, I have a few questions:
• Does ERAS permit you to write a different personal statement for each combined specialty, I mean if you are applying to internal medicine, internal medicine-peds and internal medicine-psych; will ERAS let you assign one statement for each specialty or will it consider them all under internal medicine?
• Does ERAS bill each of these as a separate specialty or as parts of one specialty (internal medicine), I mean if you apply to one IM-Peds, one IM-FM and one IM-Psych...will you be charged only 65$ ( first ten programs per specialty ) or 195 $ ( 65$ for each if each is considered a different specialty)
I would really appreciate it if someone has any idea about how this works.

You can choose to upload several personal statements and letters of rec to ERAS and choose which ones to send to each PROGRAM. Say you want to send a unique personal statement to each program to which you apply, you can do so. Therefore, you could easily send one personal statement to all the programs for one specialty and another one to all the programs of the other specialty.

ERAS bills seprately for each program type. So in your example, you would be billed $195. Don't let that stop you from applying. I hear the combined programs can be quite competitive.
