COMLEX II dates in Nov/Dec?

Due to my schedule in rotations i do not really have any time to study for COMLEX II this summer/fall and was thinking of taking them in Nov/Dec after interviews for residency were over. Problem is there are absolutely no dates available in 2 different states after early Oct. Does NBOME just wait until later in the year to make the Nov/Dec test dates available or do they not make the available at all?

Also, is it really true that a lot of candidates match before their COMLEX II scores are available? Ive been told that this is usually for applicants who do very well on COMLEX I and that COMLEX I is pretty much what programs go off of unless you do poor or sub-par on it and you need to take II to improve you scores. Any input?

Having a passing step 2 is a graduation requirement (hence must be done by May) & not a matching requirement (early Feb).
The opinions on whether you should take step 2 early vary. One camp says that if you do well enough on step 1 then you can only go down so better to delay it until after interviews while another camp says that if you have a passing step 2 you are a "sure shot" as in there is no chance you will F-up the step 2 after the match & leave a program hanging.

There are some allo programs that require Step 2 from all candidates but they are a minority.

Anyone know if you can take the test later in the year (like Nov/Dec)? Ive been told by a few residents that they did not take COMLEX II until after interviews but I cant find any available dates for it after Sept.

You can definitely take it later than Nov/Dec as far as NBOME is concerned....Some schools however, require you to take it by a certain date.
