Committee letter notifications

Hi all,

I'm using a committee letter for my application. Is it customary for the person who is going to be sending the committee letter to AMCAS to let you know when it's been sent? Or are you usually just checking AMCAS frequently to see if it's there? Is it the same thing as with the transcripts where it can take up to a few weeks for them to mark it as received?

I was notified by my school's office sending out the committee letter (specifically that it was uploaded to some service, I'm blanking on the name) and that it was made available for AMCAS to see. Two days later I received an email from AMCAS saying the letter was received, so I'm guessing it doesn't take as long as transcripts.
 
Thanks for the responses! It seems like they don't want to notify me 🙁 Good to know the delay is a lot less than with transcripts though!
