At your school are committees made of two profs you know and one you've never met before? I spoke with an MD today who said all people on his commmittee where hand picked profs he knew. I'm wondering if my school does this committee thing different from other schools.

my schools sets up the committee by also selecting a few profs I know and then a random prof from almost any dept. on campus. Its different i know but at least I'll know some faces.

Students from my school dont know who is on the committee. Its made up from professors from every department.

At my school, the committee is composed of five professors, from different departments, one dean, and two pre-med advisors this year. The professors are changed every two years or so. And when we sign up for interview date with the committee, they list which committee member will be interviewing: four per interview. In the end, I get to choose which day has the most number of people that I recognize.

Thank you all this is comforting to know. I was getting a little nervous having someone I've never met make comments about me as opposed to what I thought other schools had: a committee made of all their fav profs. Good luck to everyone! Will anyone of you be at KCUMB on 10/11?
