So, if I haven't taken biochemistry yet, which seems to be a prerequisite for a lot of dental schools, is it okay if I take it at a community college? Would dental schools much prefer that I take it at a 4 year college? I have already graduated from college and am planning to work as a dental assistant, but I'm having problems scheduling for both work and school because the local 4 year college here offers biochem only at 4:30, which is too early... Should I take the community college course, which is later at night, and take on a full time dental assistant job, or should I take biochem at the 4 year college, and look for a part time dental assistant job? Thanks guys.

Be careful because some dental schools will not give credit for prerequisites taken at a community college.

Go to the websites of the schools you plan to apply to. Some will state outright that they prefer pre-requisites done at a four year. If none of your top pics recommend that, then do what you want. If they do, it's still your gamble/decision.
