Hey everyone, (sorry for the long post...)

I posted on this topic roughly a year ago, but still had some questions. I'm going to be a senior in HS this year, but also a college Junior at my local Community College. I'll be getting my AA degree upon graduation from HS. After graduating from both CC/HS I will be going to UW for undergraduate and starting out as a junior there due to my credits from CC. This past year has been crazy as I not only am doing CC credits, but I enrolled in a really small exclusive honors program at my CC where I'll be taking classes through them with only other honors students. They guarantee my acceptance to some uni's for undergrad (such as UW and Gonzaga) which is why I'm 100% sure I'll be at UW Fall 2014.

My question is should I take more science classes at the CC or put most off until university? I only have a biology class under my belt from this past year. This upcoming school year I'll be doing either Honors Chemistry/Astronomy/Microbiology (one of them, not all three). I have 2 free electives left though, should I take them as science classes at the CC or not? Currently I'm using one as a computer science class but I may switch it to a bio class for an elective. The other is a polisci but I might switch it to a science as well.

Basically what I really want to know is would it be ideal to take minimal science classes at the CC and a bunch at the university? I know CC can be looked down upon, and I'll be applying to Dental school with essentially one year uni/two years CC under my belt.

Anyways, thanks in advance! 🙂

You will save yourself lots of headaches if you take your pre-reqs, particularly the sciences, at a 4-year university. However, there are some schools that won't accept ANY CC credit for prereqs, so you're honestly better off doing them at all at a university.

So is it ok to only have two science based classes (most likely Chem & bio) at the CC and the rest at the university level? I know taking prerequisite classes at a CC is a bad idea, but what about non prerequisite science classes?

Just a side note, I will be transferring in at UW as a junior w/ only two years left but I plan to graduate after three years to get in a vast amount of science classes.

Anyone...? Would you recommend I take more sciences at the CC this year (I only plan on graduating w/ two)? Is it a wise idea to put them all off until university level?

I would put them off as some schools don't accept CC prerequisites.
