Community college credits= not as good?

I am currently an undergrad at URI, and was thinking about taking the Developemental Psych pre-req online through a community college nearby. Would PT schools see I took it through a community college and not look at it as, uh, "highly?" I do not know how particular they are.

So far, I am thinking about applying to BU, Northeastern, and MGH, just to give you an idea.

I took all my pre-reqs at a local community college and as far as I know, the programs I applied to didn't even notice where I took the classes. Or perhaps they did notice but were not concerned. I think I have read on this board where others have stated they know some programs do scrutinize "where" you took your undergrad classes but I think to a large degree (no pun intended) most DPT programs just care that you met their pre-reqs and what your GPA was.

I have been accepted to several of the programs I applied to for Fall 2012 start. My undergraduate degree is from a major university; however, the majority of my prerequisites are from an accredited community college. I think my overall application got me in: good GPA, decent GRE score, 300+ observations hours (both in- & outpatient), work experience, volunteer hours, extracurricular activities, etc... In addition, I took my time on my personal statement. Apply early and find a way to make yourself stand out. Good luck!

I don't know for sure, but I'm a little skeptical. I did my first 2 years at a CC and although the general feeling from students is that it does not matter at all, I'm thinking it may have had an impact on my application. I did get an acceptance though.

On another note, I recently finished my undergrad at URI and the developmental psych class was one of my easier ones (in case that factors into your choice of where to take it).

Just so you know, those are all really expensive schools.

Doesn't really matter. I took half of all my pre-reqs at a community college. I got accepted to two programs, Texas Tech and Texas Women's University and wait listed at UTMB. As long as you do well in the classes than you should be fine. I was worried about this too when I was taking my classes but a friend of mine that graduate said they don't really care.

Especially if its just that one class (and espeeeeecially developmental psych) I wouldn't worry about it. I took a whole bunch of prereqs at a cc and had no issues with getting accepted. I wish I could have taken developmental psych online! I wanted to pull my hair out after virtually every class discussion.

I was a business major and took ALL my pre-reqs at a CC and I got accepted into 2 schools and 2 interviews. I think the only thing that matters is the GPA so I wouldn't worry about only taking one pre-req at a CC.
