GPA - 3.5
Total CC credits - 105
DAT: TS-19 AA-19
Just transferred to a 4 year college
Took all my pre reqs at CC (will be taking more science courses at the 4 year university)

I know there are schools that have a cutoff for cc credits but will it help a lot if i applied early in the cycle for dental school? How detrimental is it to have 105 CC credits??

i think you should take Ochem and up in a 4 year. Gen chem and gen bio are okay to take in CC. i'm going to have to take physics in a CC anyway.

I think the consensus on SDN has been to take as many of your pre-reqs at a university as possible - but it is not a requirement. If you have worries about it, call/email the schools you plan to apply to and ask their opinion.

You mean if you apply early maybe they will miss all those CC credits you amassed.

I wish... i've seen a few posts of people who said they were in a similar situation like me with a bunch of cc credits, applied early, got multiple interviews.. i just dont know if they had 100+ cc credits. Doubt it.

Hey bud,

Some schools don't accept CC credits and some do. The ones that do have a limit though... I'd call the school to ask. However, make you do take all your upper division biology classes at a 4 yr university. Good luck!

Yes, call each school you are interested in because I found that even the ADEA Official Guide to Schools had incorrect information about this.
