Do I still have a chance at medical school if i continue an upward trending GPA? I still have one more year at community college and then 2 years at a University.

So I'm inferring that you're a college freshman from the title and yes you have a strong chance. Keep working hard and aim for 3.7+ from here on out to demonstrate the upward trend and you'll be on your way!

I think you should re-evaluate your career choice. If you can not achieve a 3.9+ at a CC, you will not make it at a university or state college, where the sciences are more rigorous. The average applicant has a 3.75c and a 3.68s. If you cannot pull a 3.7+ after next semester, I think its time to look at nursing, or podiatry schools.

Maybe even...

Aside from the fact that your blanket statement about CCs is false, to tell her that she should re-evaluate her career choice because of her performance as a high school student that is dual enrolled in community college is absolutely ridiculous.

Anyways, nice to see someone else who went the dual enrollment route! Despite your weaker grades in math, it seems you have been performing pretty well in your classes so far. Make sure you achieve the best grades possible this semester and the rest of your time at the CC, especially in Chem 1 and any other pre-reqs. you'll be taking there. I was dual enrolled during my entire four years in high school, and I'm now finishing up my last two years at a UC. You have plenty of room for improvement and more importantly, time to decide if medicine is the career path you truly want to pursue. When you apply to medical schools, your coursework is listed year by year. It is likely that admissions committees will cut you at least a little bit of slack for your performance while in high school, as long as you maintain a strong upward trend throughout the rest of your college career.

Good luck!

Re-evaluate? This is my 1st year of college and I'm in high school. I still have 3 years to go.
