comparing the selectivity of goucher, bryn mawr, and hopkins

It seems to me from reading through other threads that if someone got accepted to goucher its likely they also got accepted to bryn mawr, while if someone got accepted to bryn mawr it doesnt really give any prediction on getting accepted into goucher. Is this something that sounds true to everyone else?

Also, does anyone have any idea on where Hopkins stands on this issue? I ask because it seemed to me the goucher and bryn mawr dominate the discussions as the two top and most selective programs (hopkins is just not mentioned as much). So, I was surprised today after interviewing at all three to receive a flat out rejection from hopkins while be put into a "hold" category at goucher (the admissions committee was not able to make up its mind about me yet) (Im still waiting on hearing anything from bryn mawr). I also felt that my interview went even better at hopkins than it did at goucher.

I just figured goucher would be the most selective, and hopkins would be the least selective of the three. Am I right to be surprised at my admission results so far?

Does my rejection mean bad news for me regarding goucher and bryn mawr? or, was I just wrong about Hopkins being the least selective of the bunch?

I think Bryn Mawr's students are on par with Goucher's, usually. But keep in mind Goucher accepts only 20-25, whereas BM can accept up to 80. So Goucher, by definition, needs to be more selective. I myself was accepted to Bryn Mawr but put on hold by Goucher.

I don't know much about Hopkins, but I read a page of bios for their current/former students and they sounded extremely impressive. I imagine Hopkins to be more numbers-based, as they are too new to be very liberal in the admissions game. Thus, I think BM and Goucher would be slightly more forgiving of a more "unique," less numbers-inclined student. I wouldn't count yourself for either Goucher or BM just yet.

Like med schools, applyiing to the top pb programs is a crapshoot w/ no rules. You might as well get used to it.

I was flat out rejected by Goucher, Accepted early on to Bryn Mawr and then recently had interview and basically accepted on the spot with Johns Hopkins. All were phone interviews. After much thought, I decided to go with Johns Hopkins...mostly as I am not interested in linking (I'm from Texas and want to go back for in-state) and I feel Hopkins is going to give me more opportunities for the glide-year. As far as number base, I don't know if that is fair assessment of JHU...I've posted my 'numbers' before, but ACT 26 (not high, not low), undergrad GPA: 3.76. I've volunteered for hospice, habitat for humanity, and am currently in the Peace Corps. I feel during the interview, they (JHU) were more impressed with my volunteer work before PC than with anything else. I think its a "crap" shoot is the best way to put it. My BM interview sucked, but I got in. So I really don't have any advice to impart, write your essays and hold your breath I suppose😉 Good luck to everyone!
