compendium transfusion good for CP board?

Did anyone rely especially heavily on the the ASCP compendium and companion question book for the transfusion section? I listened to the bloodbank guy multiple times but found his notes still to be quite dense and difficult to retain all the details. Our residency experience in transfusion is virtually nil, therefore I'm relying essentially entirely on board review material to provide the foundation. I found the compendium transfusion section very readable and was wondering if anyone thinks this is a reasonable, comprehensive source for the transfusion section of the CP board exam. Thanks!

Blood bank test questions are also dense and lengthy, just like the blood bank guy. I studied both and since I passed my CP exam I figure I did ok on the blood bank stuff. I am not sure the compendium is as comprehensive so I would definitely look to the BB guy stuff.
