i am sure tht marks we get in the end do not coincide with the number of right answers...i appeared for the dec 2003 part 1...my prep wus not tht gr8 as i had jus come 4-5 months prior to the test...i wanted to take the exam for a trial basis ...i knew exactly how i did wehn i stepped out of the examination centre...but to my surprize i got a score of 71 % ..i am sure that curve had something to do with it.......thts wht i wanted to confirm if the cbt will have the same benefit or not???? 😕

The score result is not directly proportional to the number of correct answers we mark but it depends according to the score conversion table which differs each time (depending up on how tough r the questions) when we take the test I beleive.
I highly doubt that it will be different for cbt 🙂 :luck:

then do u think i should go for cbt .....???r u sure?????

Well it's totally up to u to decide..Those r only my opinions..and always u could contact ADA to verify this anytime..There is also a CD available to get familiarise with cbt.

Dentaldoc's opinions are correct. The scores are based on a curve, which is based on how well groupings of people do on the exam. Both the written and computer versions are graded on the curve, although their curves are different (due to different exams), but they will function in the same manner.

Typically, a passing score of 75 correlates to getting 50-60% of the questions in each section correct (or 50-60 out of 100).
