compnw vs cusom?

Any opinions? I worry about compnw's facilities not being too great (no library), but I also worry about Cusom's lack of a reputation.

CUSOM looks to be a pretty good school and has a bright future. However, I would go with the school that is more established. Unless you have family in NC or something.

Facilities don't mean much. You could study medicine in a one room apartment and do well. CUSOM has mandatory attendance which is a big turn off for me.

On this alone I would not go to CUSOM. At this point OP doesn't know what makes him a better learner. I know that attending class definitely hindered me compared to watching the recording.

Wasn't in love with cusom's attendance policy either but decided in the end didn't matter enough to be a deciding factor. I did want a school that was part of an affiliated university though and personally I think this offers much more to a school's quality than the age of the program.
If reputation is your biggest concern, I'm not sure what to offer. CUSOM is new but COMP-NW has zero name recognition in NC or this region of the country (as I'm sure Campbell hardly has in the pacific nw). Campbell University though is spending a lot of money and resources on increasing their national awareness as a university and their brand/image right now though so I'd say that can't hurt things either.

I think reputation was the wrong word choice. My concern is more about cusom's rotation, board scores, and future match rates. It seems like a great school, I'm just unsure about it and wanted some opinions from people who know more than I do.
By contrast, when I interviewed at compnw it seemed like they had good match rates, etc, but it did feel like they were not investing enough into their campus (it's just one small building...I'm still stuck on the no library thing) whereas CUSOM seems to be investing heavily. These are my main concerns, in a more articulate way.

Sure, all are very reasonable questions. Rotation sites are good and in my opinion getting better as they settle into their hospitals, not sure about compnw but some do schools seem to struggle retaining consistent hospital sites, ours seem to be stable. I also have appreciated the benefit of most of our places having residents around but not to the point of eliminating our experiences. I think the benefits of community teaching hospitals is more autonomy and hands on experience so the balance is good in my opinion.
As far as boards and match rates... I can't tell you specifics about boards but you could contact the school. First classes boards were above comlex national averages on both levels 1/2 and usmle step 1 was 100% pass so I'd say that's very solid evidence you'd have what you need to succeed for Boards. Our matches are coming up so stay tuned for those. Military match happened in December, everyone matched, one even into derm I believe.
