I apologize in advance if I somehow missed this thread, I swear I searched and the most recent thing that came up was 2009.

I don't know if I imagined this, but I thought I found a list at one point in the past of all the osteopathic schools and their incoming class stats. I am trying to figure out which schools are the best to apply at, what my reach would be...

Damn if I can find a straight answer out there!

Thank you in advance...

Where's the initiative! None of you gunner pre-meds can make one of those awesome spreadsheets.....😉. (I'm certainly not gonna do it....I've got important work to do lol).

Does anyone know what the stats for UMDNJ-SOM are?

I guess I can make a spreadsheet... it'll take some time though since I'm going to be busy this week. Problem is it'll be changed in a few months once the 2016 stats are posted.

If it'll help future premeds though, I'll be more than happy to make a template spreadsheet with the 2015 data, and people can add to it every year. This way, trends in GPA/MCAT/class sizes, etc. can be tracked and graphed over many years.

I'll get started on it later today.

thanks brah!

We'd all appreciate it, so good luck. I can't even find stats for most schools newer than 2009ish.

I just made my template... now I'm filling it out. I'm comparing information from the 2010-2011 CIB to the Class Profiles for the c/o 2015 on the school's website, and it doesn't give the same information.

Example... for ATSU-SOMA, I found the class size is 100, Age is 26.18, and GPA is 3.39, and MCAT 26.04... which is different than what SLC has.

Should I trust the CIB or the school's website? I'm thinking the latter.

You know, I really appreciate it. It seems like such an obvious thing. It's really not practical to consider every school out there, the field has to be narrowed. At the end of the day stats do matter.

Thanks for everyone's input!

I took my info from a brochure in tr lobby at SOMA. It says the info is for the entering class and I think it's for my class (the current 1st years) though it doesn't say specifically. I do know for a fact that we started with 107 though, not 100.

The CIB's stats may reflect what a school is "supposed" to have, on average, and what they are accredited to have. The school needs to accept just a few more applicants than there are seats for, to ensure that the minimum number of seats they are accredited for are filled. Since it isn't too hard to find willing souls to fill all the possible seats, classes of 100 have 107 students (give or take). Totally legit practice that schools of all types (grad/undergrad) participate in.

Yes, this I understand. But our class has 107 attending. There are 11 clinical sites and all but 1 have the full compliment of 10 students.

I'll use the school's website to get the class sizes then. Thanks guys.

This should make it easier:
http://www.princetonreview.com/schools/medical/MedBasics.aspx?iid=1034933

Use the search function on the upper right hand corner. It has most schools but not all. The information seems recent too.

Good luck on the spreadsheet...that is if anyone does it.

Sweet thanks. I'm cross checking all the numbers with different sources so they are all consistent. I'll try to have this sucka' done by next week. I'm trying to make it as thorough as possible.

Those numbers seem a few years old, so I don't know if I would trust it.

BTW people, this has already been done. I don't remember the link, but I believe there is a comprehensive Google excel spread that was done with all this info, I think.

There was a spreadsheet but the info in the site I just posted seems to be the same as the LizzyM spreadsheet (including the allopathic info).

No, not the LizzyM one. There is an open google exel sheet that is updated by SDN users with this data.

IIRC, minimum MCAT score for an interview is now 27.

That'd weird. Their minimum MCAT is .4 points above their average for last year's entering class.

Maybe it's something lower...I can't seem to remember right now. My brain is fried from studying for blocks.

Point is, the minimum MCAT score is now higher.

edit: I'm just going to delete that part from my previous comment until I can get confirmation.

OK folks, here is the link to SDN's comprehensive and updated MD/DO schools stats. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmKVGWwobG5GdEx2MjlBTDE0bXFXNGFZczZqYTZKb2c&hl=en_US#gid=0

I highly doubt these are up to date. The LizzyM excel sheet is embarassingly outdated for most DO schools.

I don't know about the LizzyM scores. I'm talking about the MCAT & GPA info on there. That's pretty up to date.

Some of the numbers are right... but some don't match what the school's websites have. They don't differ by much though.

Also, the numbers people are posting don't match the school's websites either. Are some of ya'll getting it from a handout they gave you during an interview?

I have the template ready to go... I just need reliable numbers. I'm going off what each school's website says for now.

A lot of the schools' websites have outdated information.

The general rule is, whatever the higher number is, that's probably the correct one.

Yeah. If it says "Class of 2015 Profile" though, I'm going with that. If it just gives a GPA and MCAT, I'll crosscheck multiple sources and use the highest numbers.

They tell us at orientation what the class stats are generally. I didn't even bother checking Midwestern's website, just went from what I could remember. I'd assume others are doing the same

Wow. I had no idea PNWU was so small.

We have been told that the class size next year will be 125 if the accreditation goes through late this spring (first class is graduating).

Any progress?

Any progress?

There are a lot more schools than I thought... haha. But yeah, I'm making progress.

I have resident tuition/non-resident tuition columns as well. Some websites give a breakdown of the tuition, others don't. I don't think the CIB is accurate either, since DMU's tuition on the CIB is different than on its website/handouts they gave. Some of these schools really need a better web design...

I was hoping to have it done already but it might take me till the end of the week. Sorry, mates. 🙁

Did you ever get this done, Toytles?
