Hi Everyone,

I just registered for this network 🙂
I was wondering if anyone has taken the computerized OAT yet and what they thought of it. I am scheduled to take it on Feb. 7th and am a little nervous about it. I would really appreciate your help.

I think no one has taken the computerized version of the OAT; you probably will be among the first group of people to take it.

Will students have the option of taking the paper test after the computerized version is implemented?

They will still offer the pencil and paper test for a least a few more years

Does anyone know when is the latest that a student appolying for 2005 admission can take the OAT? I heard it was February, but since the computerized test takes less time to score, did the deadline move up at all?

I am guessing u can take the Computerized OAT up to mid-march (that's when the written OAT scores come out) or so since you can get your scores on the same day and the schools get em within 3 weeks.

Hello! I am planning on taking the computerized OAT this February also. I am still waiting to hear back from the company with my info to finish registering for the test. 👍 p.s. I just registered too! Checkin' in from Memphis, TN 😎

I was told by the Student Affairs Officer at UCBSO that you will be able to see your scores pretty quickly and then decide whether to submit them or not. Kinda like scorechoice with the SAT II's back in the day.

According to SCCO, http://www.scco.edu/admissions/admreq.html, you can take it before March 15th, 2005.. check the link out..

Hi,

I've already taken the OAT but was just wondering if you would actually be able to choose to submit your scores after you've seen them? I know for GMATs you are allowed to see your score but then you have to submit them. Wouldn't be unfair if you got to see your score before you decided whether to submit them or not? I mean...other students taking the paper OAT didn't have that option. For those of you taking the computerized OAT, good luck!

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from taking the Computerized OAT. I thought my heart was gonna jump out when the comp was thinkin' and calculating my score. Reading Comp and Quantatative are worst on the computer and my scores reflect it 🙁
I took the written one in October and didn't do well at all, I wasn't done with most of the pre-reqs and had a really heavy load
soooooooo

here are my stats from today
Quant. 260
Reading comp 300
Biology 310
Gen Chem 320
Organic 330
Physics 300
Total Science: 320
Academic Average 300

Basically I improved drastically in everything except in quantitative, last time I got 310

I am dying to get into PCO. I interviewed there in October and was told to take the OAT again. Do you think I have a chance? I would really appreciate your help.

Go Eagles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good job, those seem like pretty stable scores. how is your GPA? experience? did you interview anywhere yet?

was there an option of whether or not you want to submit your scores ? or do you simply get to see them before they submit them? I get to take the test over next week 🙁

I dont' understand, I thought OAT is a standardized test. So to whom do they compare the score to? those who wrote the test on the same day?? wouldn't the population size be dramatically less?

I know that some test give an estimated score right away and then send you a standardized score later. The scores are usually very close. Thats who one test my wife took worked. They have so much scoring data from years past that they pretty much don't even need to standardize any more.

Do they use the same test that they use in the past? if it's not the same test, how do they normalize's the test difficulty level? There must be variability in the level of difficulty.

i thought that too but i never got asked to see if i wanted em sent. maybe there was one, i was just so nervous when the scores were being calculated, i don't even remember leaving the center.........but good luck with your OAT. it's a savior for those of us who didn't do well in october but have a chance do better and still be considered for 2005 fall admission
