I dont see China and Japan in a war, and I'm sure China has more weapons than Japan 😛 I know what you mean.

BTW How effective is a semiautomatic crossbow in an arms race? 😀

very effective...if your enemy only has a slingshot.

But seriously: NO one should own a gun without taking and being certified in a gun safety course. No reason to have it if you don't know how to properly handle it.

All you really need is some common sense, especially if you grew up with guns. When I was little the gun rack was stocked and ready above my parents bed and as a teenager I had all of the guns in my room. Even if you've never seen a certain gun before you can figure out how it works mechanically and then use common sense. I've been through gun safety and it was a waste of time but may be semi useful to someone who has never used or laid eyes on a real gun before. It's like taking a safety course before you can use a lawn mower.

It was above their bed 😱 ? I'm wondering if that is a comment on the state of crime in MN or about marriage :scared: ?

j/k - no....I don't have any patience for guns, but respect those who own them. However, I see no place for them in a workplace like a pharmacy (just my own opinion) & even less above a marital bed.....but....to each his own I say! 🙂

You're right. A gun safety/certification course would be a bore for someone that grew up with guns. Though it couldn't hurt. It would still be useful in the CYA (cover your ass) sense, that you carry the certification. Just my opinion.

Boy, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of CCW while working.

However...get out of Cali. Getting CCW and being white has nothing to do with anything. It's all about who you know or how much money you have, but then again, depending on who you ask those factors go together hand in hand. There are plenty more gun-friendly states that are way better than cali.

Additionally, in this day and age, the only way you'd be able to carry on the job is if you work for a really really cool independent, or if you run your own shop. Ain't no way you're carrying at CVS or while running to a code at a hospital. Of course, if you're carrying properly, no one would know that you're carrying, but if you ever had to use it, the words "fired", "revoked", and "imprisoned" suddenly come to mind.

Why would you EVER need a gun at a code????? I just try to not get stuck by the lido needle!!! 😱

Also...why worry about getting held up???? GIVE THEM THE DRUGS!!!! You'll get reimbursed - who cares? They can have everything I have in stock!

Now...over my bed....no....never have I ever had anyone there I've wanted to shoot 😉

But...for sure...if you feel you need to carry a weapon while working & want to move....I'm happy to drive you to the airport so you can leave CA - just don't shoot me!

Whoa whoa whoa, you're taking my comments completely out of context! I'm saying it's ridiculous to be carrying on rounds. Honestly I think it's pretty absurd to carry at a hospital...not that my hospitals security force could really do anything, but wearing a holster would pull down my scrubs, and I already have enough coworkers waiting for opportunities to pants people, so that's out of the picture.

Seriously though, why do you get this inclination that the OP/myself are for some reason looking to shoot someone instead of giving someone percocets? Insurance is there for a reason, and I feel like I could deal with DEA paperwork, so shooting people is certainly not my intention. However, if you've watched the news for any amount of time, sometimes there's a very fine line, or no line at all, between "robbery" and "murder". If I was running my own shop, I'd probably carry in my own store, just out of piece of mind, and it's really not a big deal/inconvience for CCW holders.

Of course, owning my own independent is a laughable idea at best, so don't you worry.

Have to learn that move; this old trick effective against opponent who is much taller

DID YOU KNOW?
Only four men have scored three goals in World Cup final matches - Geoff Hurst (England), Vava (Brazil), Pele (Brazil) and now Zinedine Zidane (France)

You can legally walk down the street with a shotgun slung around your shoulder in WV. Carry permits are like fishing permits. Pay the fee and there's about a 2% chance you don't get it. I'll probably get one myself.
One of these should do the trick:

NOW you're talking. Forget the CCL. Open holstered carry in your place
of business is the way to go. At my local gun shop (Washington) all the employees wear a side arm in full view. Just take it off before you step out
back for your smoke break - least you be accused of "brandishing"

HAHAH - interesting concept for a pharmacy... somehow I dont think its gonna fly anywhere that has buildings taller than a church though.

Just to throw something out there again... Having a concealed weapon isn't a deterent to anything. They dont know you have it. Even if you do - the only time you will be able to use it effectively would be if some random situation didnt include you (you coming to someone else's rescue). I wouldn't go for my gun if I already had one pointed in my face. There simply isn't a way to do it while at the same time ensuring you dont get blown away. We actually did training covering this specific topic (gun vs. gun confrontation when you are late on the draw)

I served in the Marine Corps for five years, and have been shot at before. I know a thing or two about weapons as a form of deterent. They dont matter...

If you want one - get one. Just know the reason you are getting it is for an illusion - whether it be for an impression of safety, protection, or peace of mind.

Now if its for recreation... by all means. How much fun is it to go to the range!!! 👍

I'm about to go on a rampant shooting spree... found 4 ducks in my swimming pool.. a family of doves in my gardenia hedge..and they are crapping all over my pool deck.. and a tiny little killer rabbit is eating my bermuda lawn.

This is unexcusable.. they're not helping out with my mortgage..hence I'll have to shoot them with my pellet gun.

And a family of mocking birds have been getting into my Concorde Grapevine and pecking at my grapes..so Mrs. Covered it with a net.... and they couldn't get in it for about a month.. then one of em found a hole near the ground and got in the net and couldn't get out.. I thought about shooting it but a neighbor wouldn't let me.. and I think it's illegal to shoot a mocking bird.

So I was forced to pick my grapes 1 week early.

Wild life and I are sworn enemies.
