Conceptual thinking

I have a very strong interest in science and I am more than willing to put all of my effort and time into my classes. With that said, Chemistry has been giving me a bit of a rough time. What I'm doing is self-teaching myself some of the material. The biggest struggle is the fact that you need to think conceptually and for some reason, it is really difficult for me to do so. Same with Biology and SOME physics. To some, I guess it comes east, but not to me. 🙁

Chem is a relatively interesting class in the fact that you really need to learn 1 thing from it.
dimensional analysis and stiochemotry.. when you can understand them.. you more or less remove any difficulty from chemistry..
conceptual thinking... idk what to tell you lol.... take a philosophy class it'll stimulate your brain to think hypothetically about even the very smallest of concepts.. or any at that humanities/social science; they have the ability to open up the ability to expand on and analysis very small details and make assessments from there. 😀

just my .2 cents

but yah.. examine everything.. think of dimensional analysis..
think like i need to go from grams of c to moles of 2au.. how do i do this..
if the answer seems wrong.. go back and start from scartch or try to figure out where you went wrong..

You're trying to teach yourself material that you really don't have the foundation for. It's conceptually difficult because you don't have anyone to explain it to you.

You might benefit from actually taking the classes.

Ah. Okay. My advice is to graduate high school, do some fun things, travel, and explore all your options. Take classes in college you didn't plan on taking before. Learn about new things. And, once you're in college, take a chemistry class. You'll have peers with whom you can study, a professor to explain concepts you don't get, and about a thousand other resources.

(BTW, I give this advice to all hSDN-ers. Maybe you'll be the smart one who listens.)
