Hey all,
I'm currently picking my classes for next semester and wanted to see if y'all could provide a little direction.
I'm looking at the possibility of repeating anatomy while taking higher level science classes. When I originally took anatomy I didn't appreciate how much study time it would require and so I received a C. Because it's a 5 hour course that's hurting me. It would also benefit me to retake and do well because my school offers a cadaver dissection class but one of the prereqs is an A in anatomy.

I tried searching through the forums for an answer but wanted to get clarification: My understanding is that the 5 hours graded as a C would be averaged with the 5 hours of an A and AACOMAS and AAMC would calculate it as 10 hours graded as an a B. Is this correct?

That is my understanding as well. All attempts are averaged, no grade forgiveness/replacement

That is correct. I would not do it to increase your GPA. That said, if you really want to do the cadaver dissection class, then retake it and make sure you get that A. Anything less will look bad. You could then explain why you retook it on secondaries as you wanted to take the dissection class and not the GPA boost.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to take different upper level classes instead. Cheers.
