Conference Paper?

Hey guys,

I'm currently an applicant applying MD/PhD, and I'm trying to decide what to list my conference paper as. The conference paper was a culmination of one of my significant research experiences, and the instructions say to list all publications in the Activities section. However, does a conference paper count as a publication? If not, should I just mention it in the Significant Research Essay?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and preferably soon, cause I'm already behind in my application.. doh. :/
