I'm giving a talk at a pretty specialized clinical conference coming up, and I was wondering what would be most appropriate to wear (female). Business professional suit or dress? Does it matter? Thanks!

Business profession could mean a very business-like dress or a suit jacket with matching skirt or pants. Your choice. Tablots has some "wear to work" selections that I could see at a podium presentation at a conference. (I'd go with long sleeve dress but that's my style.)
