Hi all. Are people getting emails confirming that their apps are complete? I know some of mine are (yes, not all, as some are past the deadline and missing recs :scared:) but I haven't heard anything from any of the schools. Experience?

So far I've only gotten emails confirming that they RECEIVED my application. I applied to 10 schools so far and none of them have actually sent me an email saying my application is complete. I've either had to check the status on their application website, or some have sent me sites where I can check the status of my application, including whether supporting materials (GRE, transcripts, etc) have been received.

For the schools that show my application as incomplete and missing materials, I've had to call to confirm that they received my stuff. They've always been happy to look me up in their system. Most have told me that they are in the middle of sorting through application materials though and will let applicants know if things are missing within a certain period of time (2 weeks to 21 days depending on the school). When I call places I always ask if my application will be discounted/disqualified if the materials haven't been received in time (even though everything has actually been delivered by the deadline, just not matched up with my application). None have said that they will throw out the application for that reason. Don't know if they're just telling me that to keep me happy and get me off the phone though!

The only one I got a formal email from was old school and did snail mail. Others have rolled over online and say complete or under review.
